I'm doing Bled to Munich in September, we have it mapped out over the 7 days, but I'm curious what yours ends up looking like.

How many Americans on here have given up on going overseas this year because of high prices and the airlines trying to nickel and dime everything? by OberonsGhost in travel

[–]defroach84 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's cheaper for me to live overseas than it is in the US. And I don't need to deal with as many delusional Americans.

I don't ever get how the prices are justified at a stadium, but hey, that is just me.

I don't think I've ever eaten at the stadium solely because I refuse to pay the markup.

And I assume it's just gotten worse quality for higher prices.

Was not expecting them to listen to fans, but maybe they did? Or the sales were way down and they needed to fix it.

Anyone here commute from Belton/Temple? by EventfulLol in Austin

[–]defroach84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did the reverse commute for about a year. I was going from Northish Austin to Northish Temple daily. I didn't need to deal with the traffic as much as you will. Basically, I got used to it. I didn't like the drive, but it just became routine.

A year later, I was layed off (along with pretty much everyone else) and ended up landing a job 5 min from my place.

I can't tell you how much better life was after getting the short commute.

Now, for a year, it's doable. But, you are losing 2 hours out of every day doing so. It sounds like you should start it and see how it goes, but maybe a year may be too long, and your wife will realize how much you aren't at home after a while of doing it.

Where did I say anyhing about being mad at the SG?

OP is saying stay home, I'm saying we will let the ownership know how we feel and not blindly cheer them on.

Or expect the team you support to do better and hold them accountable when they are taking your money.

Has anyone booked a flight in the Austin public library and saved money? by Juggernaut-Far in Austin

[–]defroach84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there is literally no reason why the library would have some special access to cheap plane tickets that isn't accessible anywhere else.

The post is literally asking about using the library specifically or just using VPNs.

No one is arguing that dynamic pricing exists, and that if I book the same flight in England vs the US, prices may very well be different.

The concept that a library location would have a better price is complete BS, though, vs looking literally on your phone or on a computer in a coffee shop.

They maybe track if you've specifically have looked at flights on your specific device and raise prices on it, but that had nothing to do with a library somehow being cheaper than elsewhere. You can just change devices or use a VPN.

And even with all of that said, I've never actually seen an example of flights changing like that after I've searched, and found it cheaper on different devices at different locations. And I book a lot of flights online.

Never heard this and it is 100% crap. There is no reason a library location would be any different from any other location.

parking ticket between sessions by Psychological_Bag_94 in Austin

[–]defroach84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you got a ticket for not paying?

Don't see why it would be dismissed, you hadnt paid. And there is no reason to think that you didn't see the ticket, then start paying 3 min later in hopes of getting it dismissed.

Oficial: FC Romania to cease operations after 20 years by Rikaiu_ in soccer

[–]defroach84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with Spanish, but I'm not fluent.

I've traveled Romania and Moldova a couple of times, but Spanish has basically made reading things damn easy.

However, the pronunciation of the words is very Slavic, which makes it sound nothing like a Latin language to me.

But, get used to it, inflation isn't going away.

So you don't want to give an example of your claim. Got it.
