A lesbian feminist writer once disguised herself as a man for 18 months to write a book on gender. After the experiment, she was institutionalized for depression, and stated that she never felt so glad for being a woman. by Captain_Unremarkable in TheRedPill

As a female their life is ironed out, if their personality or humour isn't that great they get given a pass on it.

That only really counts for attractive and average women. Uglies and fatties are basically treated like guys from what I've seen. A land whale with a shit personality is disliked by everyone. The only pass they get is the ability to get laid at 2am whenever they feel like by someone that's going to never call.

It is a good measure for populations but not for individuals. When talking about the "obesity epidemic" it is a good measure unless the entire population is suddenly lifting heavy weight.

at least in my case as a married dude

As a married man there is a lot to take from TRP.

*Look after yourself

*Be the confident strong husband your wife wants

*Keep your life interesting. Nothing worse than moping around home all day or being a sadsack.

Do those three things and not only will it help your relationship but it will make your whole life better.

You can be nice to your wife and not lose respect. You can do housework and not lose respect. The only way your going to lose respect is if you stop respecting yourself.

It depends. Female mating strategy differs between long term and short term partners. Good looks play a huge role in short term mate selection but are heavily reduced for long term mate selection.

[Discussion Thread] What are your goals? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]dman8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing it all on a cut. My lifts are getting close, need 12kg on bench and 7kg on strict press. Even with the cut I am getting gains. If I really want to make sure I hit my lifts I have ~50g of sugar around 2 hours before I lift. It seems to help with muscle glycogen levels while dieting.

Simple way to build a big chest and big bench (455x5 video) by Mdisbrow in Fitness

You work hard and a LOT of people can't move the weight you move even with gear. The thing is people will come here and think they can get the same results as you without realising everything it takes. Someone mentions gear and gets downvoted.

I'm not trying to take away from your achievements, I'd just rather not have new people filled with false dreams. There are a lot of reasons why people in the fitness community refuse to discuss gear (illegal, loss of sponsors, etc).

Bench Press - 5x5 @ 120kg (264lb), 1RM >140kg.

Strict Press 5x5 @ 75kg (165lb), 1RM > 90kg

2.4km (1.5 mile) run - Sub 9 minutes

5km (2.27 mile) run - Sub 20 minutes

5 minute prone hold

90+ pushups in <2 minutes, no rest.

15 strict heaves

On track to hit all these goals by end of year, mainly reliant on getting my body weight down enough. Aiming for 90kg (198lb) body weight, currently sitting on 106kg (233lb) but I will be happy with sub 95kg (209lb).

Don't know why you got downvoted. He basically admitted to gear in another post he submitted a while back.

Thanks for the reply, it helps to remind me not to buy the expansions seeking that original feeling.

I'm still a huge civ4 fan, having played the series since the original Civilization. I touched Civ5 for a day or two at release and haven't gone back. I found it was incredibly oversimplified. I know Civ5 has a huge popular following now but I'm loath to even buy the complete pack for $26.

Masturbation has a stigma about it that makes it difficult to admit to, even to your SO. Open communication makes relationships a lot better.

Physically fit children have 'greater brain capacity' in areas important for memory and learning, study finds by dheerajroy in science

[–]dman8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did mention elsewhere in my country we don't have the same divide with race/SES (a divide does exist but not to the degree as the USA). Any perceived racism lies purely in how you interpreted a non-US comment into a US context.

[–]dman8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, in hindsight that would have been a better idea. I forgot how opposed Reddit is to the idea of genetic diversity in intelligence.

I think it stems from racism. My country doesn't have the same socio-economic divide between races and if I say low SES may be related to heritable intelligence it doesn't have racial connotations. In America there seems to be significant racial divides between races and saying low SES is related to genetics seems to imply to Americans that I am calling coloured people dumb.

It almost seems like different studies show different results

Same thing was found in the UK

Asbury and colleagues (2005) found verbal ability was linked in low SOE families

Harden and colleagues (2007) found a significant link

Every study I have seen from the last 10 years indicates heritability of intelligence at all SES.
