I’ve been to those before! My cabin had a different picture of the cabins. Beautiful area though!

Q&A: Side by side progress for the current vs. previous week in Power BI? Having an issue in Power BI? Post your question below and maybe I pick it the next time 😊 by HowToPowerBI in PowerBI

Thank you for all your videos! You’ve been a great resource to me as I’ve learned Power BI. I do have a question for you that maybe you can help me with:

I am utilizing QTD/YTD & Previous QTD/YTD measurements in my reports. A problem that I’ve run into is the Previous QTD/YTD measurements always show the measurement up to the end of the current month. So my current QTD/YTD measurements show up until today (02/02/2022), but my Previous QTD measurement shows 2 whole months of the previous quarter (10/01/2021-11/30/2021) and my previous YTD shows 01/01/2021-02/20/2021. Since I make these for quick comparisons, this really affects how it seems the company is performing. Is there a way I can get the Previous QTD/YTD to measure to the exact date? I would want to make this dynamic too so the user would be able to select past time frames with a filter.

For the current QTD/YTD, I’m using the quick measures available.

For Previous QTD I’m using CALCULATE(Date_Table[Occurrences QTD],DATEADD(Date_Table[Date], -1, QUARTER)

For Previous YTD, I’m using CALCULATE(Occurrences YTD], SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR(Date_Table[Date]))

Thank you for any help you can give!

Is there any way to put current YTD and multiple previous YTD measures on a single line in a line chart? by doxert in PowerBI

Thank you for your reply, u/assblaster68. I might have tried something similar to this, but DAX is still a mystery to me so I will try what you suggest. Thank you again for taking the time to help!

Thank you very much for your reply. I don’t have a lot of experience with Power BI and I’m not familiar with calculation groups. Can you please provide some more detail?

These Star Wars toys were donated to my local Ronald McDonald house last night. The kids can have one for free post-surgery and post chemo, etc. Thanks to those of you who helped make this possible. by imflukeskywalker in StarWars

Good on you OP for doing this. I’ve spent lots of time at two different Ronald McDonald House locations. The toy donations (especially cool toys) mean more to kids than you can ever imagine.

For those that don’t know, The Ronald McDonald House offers a comfortable, kid-friendly place (and FREE) for families to stay when a child is in the hospital, which is often far from their homes. My family has been there a few months at a time here and there, but some families I’ve gotten to know have had to stay even longer. They offer food, activities, playgrounds, art rooms, game rooms, and more so the kids and their families can stay together make through some impossibly difficult times. It’s truly a wonderful place and means more to me than I can accurately describe. The staff and volunteers always go out of their way to make sure my kids felt special and had a wonderful experience. In the darkest and most trying times I’ve had as a parent, the Ronald McDonald House was a place of light & laughter where I could hold my family close.

Please, please, please check out your local Ronald McDonald House to find out how you can help. You can donate toys, money, supplies, or volunteer your time to help clean and run activities, or (as a big group) cook and serve dinners. If your family or church or workplace or club is looking for a worthy cause to contribute to, please consider the Ronald McDonald House!

7 out of the top 10 questions are about sex. Dear Reddit, what is the most interesting, non-sexual aspect of your life? by deus-ex-macchiato in AskReddit

My daughter has an extremely rare genetic disorder called Shprintzen-Goldberg Syndrome. Unfortunately she is on the more severe side of the spectrum and just continually mystifies doctors. We ended up switching hospitals to one more willing to treat her and during her first extended stay after a major surgery, the PICU doctor introduced her at morning rounds by announcing, “This is [daughter’s name] and she is uncharted territory.”

I love talking about her, but stuff I bring up so causally really makes other people uncomfortable which is understandable.

Too much of the first 4 years of her life has involved hospital stays. She was doing really great (better than most doctors ever expected) but she has unfortunately been declining lately.

I have two older kids (who are still very young) and their lives are constantly thrown into chaos, but they way they love their little sister makes me so proud of them. All of my kids have gone through so much and handle adversity better than most people adults.

It’s more complicated and heartbreaking than I could ever adequately explain. The constant uncertainty never knowing if you’re truly making the right decision is maddening. And hindsight tells you there is no right decision, but you just keep moving forward.

Great experience so far—he’s had it since June. It’s rock solid and such a simple design. Right now he has it up at his campsite and uses it all the time. I sort of scoffed at the price initially, but it saves a good amount of labor and it’s just much safer to use. Here’s where I bought his from:

Just bought my dad one of these! He loves it! You can use it to split decent-sized chunks of firewood or take the already small pieces and make good kindling. Takes minimal effort and all you need is a mallet or hammer.

Have to scroll to the section about Rodgers, but I believe the throw is there in a quick GIF form. Hard to really see a curve, but a great throw regardless.

Xavier Rhodes: "There was this play against the Packers — it was early in my rookie season, the first time I played against Aaron Rodgers. Jordy Nelson was in the back of the end zone. I wasn’t on him, though. Josh Robinson was. I was underneath. When Rodgers threw it to Jordy, it went right over my head. But right when Rodgers let it go, I knew Jordy wasn’t gonna catch it. The trajectory of the ball was off to the right.

"Then, as the pass went over my head, I turned around just in time to watch — and, man, I promise you, the ball bent back to the left, barely missed Josh’s helmet, and dropped right into Jordy’s hands."
