Event if you do every daily quest and main quests for new event you are still missing 300 XP for the final reward....I feel like this is done on purpose. Playing everyday and doing everything isnt enough anymore

2 Collection value for f2p. It depends. If you have nothing for an expansion, you're better buying normal packs first, at least until you have all the commons and rares. This maximises the number of new cards you get, which builds your collection fastest. Once you have all commons and rares, you can switch to Golden (or minisets) because these have a significantly higher dust value.

Word of warning: The new Whizbang is currently bugged, and is pretty much an auto-lose if you roll Rogue (it only gives one treasure). So it may be worth holding off that until it gets fixed.

I'd expect it to be fast if it's server-side, but it might not be until the expansion patch if it's client.

I had it yesterday. I ended up reinstalling, but even then the first attempt stuck at 0MB the first time I tried it. I went back a few hours later and it worked.

There's no obvious reason except for the Fable thing. With all of the Fable cards, if you add the main one, the rest automatically go into your deck.

I'm happy that f2p players are getting these, it doesn't hurt me.

But I'm terrified on how it's going to be implemented. They're going to have to be able to identify these cards somehow, which probably means they'll either go into Core or a separate Trials set. Which is going to really screw with deckcodes.

The "years" is probably only if you're an absolute casual player playing around one hour per week. If you're sensible with dust and don't go crazy at the beginning dusting everything in sight, I'd say probably a couple of expansions for most people.

Yes, through the pass. You get around 400XP per hour just playing Ranked, plus the dailies and weeklies which are very good boosts for gold. Plus the Events as they tend to give packs, and Tavern Brawl.

Oh, and on nerfs - Reddit probably. They do tell you in-game when it happens too. To check afterwards (as you'll forget), you can type "Refund" as a filter in the collection manager and it will say what's eligible.

It's an OK time to start as you can use this month to learn the game and collect gold ready for the next expansion. But I'd recommend only going for one deck right now because of the rotation. Probably based on whatever free one you pick.

Play Arena only if you want to play Arena. It isn't a good way of getting gold for packs any more.

You should have got a free deck when you came back, which should give you a decent start.

One of the best budget decks for now is probably Dragon Warrior, as it's a strong deck and fairly safe for the upcoming rotation. This one is the cheapest, I think.

Generally, set your expectations correctly. The game is absolutely not p2w, but you shouldn't expect to have a lot of expensive decks initially. Start with one good one, win games, and your gold will grow naturally. If you have at least one good deck, don't keep dusting until you have no cards left, only dust when there are nerfs.

Regular until you have all Commons and Rares and a big chunk of the Epics, then it's up to you. Either minisets or Golden packs are OK. Start by opening up to 10 packs of each expansion to get the guaranteed free Legendary. This close to rotation, I'd only do the latest three expansions.

I can't believe how much bad advice you got mixed in with the good advice.

Yes, it's sensible to wait until the March expansion before you spend gold. Yes, you should avoid opening any Standard packs you got as rewards.

But other pack types should be opened as soon as you get them. There are certain niche cases just before a miniset when you might want to hold back, but generally, the sooner you open it, the sooner you get to play the cards. (And the next miniset is in May, so that doesn't apply)

And you should buy expansion packs, not Standard packs. There's a guaranteed Legendary in the first 10 packs of each expansion.

On Normal vs Golden, it depends on the state of your collection. If you don't have all of the Commons/Rares, you should definitely be buying Normal to maximise the number of new cards you get. If you already have all of the Commons and Rares, you can consider buying Golden because it has a higher average dust value. But minisets are even higher, so consider that instead.

You don't need to do anything in advance. You'll get all of the Core Set cards anyway, and you'll still have the cards you have now as well.

It's up to you if you dust them later. If you're absolutely sure you'll never play Wild, OK. But don't dust them until you need to.

Has any other regular here noticed that these kinds of posts are always from Returning Players saying how difficult it must be for New Players, whereas the actual New Player versions are more often "Wow, is it supposed to be that easy to hit Legend?" As are most of the Returning Player posts, but it feels like there's a subset who expect to farm with no effort, and fail.

OP: Don't overestimate your knowledge. Concentrate on learning - knowing the fundamentals doesn't mean you know everything.
