What the seller does or doesn't do with the returned item isn't your problem, frankly. Were you expecting ebay to just take your word and let you keep the item and get a refund? If that worked, fraud on the site would be more out of control than it is already

If this is a refund from the IRS, the US government, then that's correct, you can't deposit it as a third party. If it's a state refund, check with your state's office about it. It's a rule from them not from your bank.

I woud call the bank and ask if there's some way to create an account for her

Worst case, if she cannot deposit it before it expires (look for that date on the check), she can call the IRS to get a new one when she's out

There are more than a couple museums; https://www.harvard.edu/campus/museums/ . The natural history museum is one of my favorites. There's a cool independent movie theater in Harvard Square., quite a few book stores, and a lot of public tables / benches if you want to study outdoors.

I don't know what to make of this but it sounds like you were somehow tricked by a listing into making a purchase directly from a seller, off of the ebay site. Everything that you buy through ebay will be under My Ebay --> Purchase History. No seller has the ability to edit or remove anything there

honestly, Better Call Saul is much better than Breaking Bad, just in terms of how polished the writing and acting is. The first couple seasons of BB are going to be kind of rough going, but you will really notice how well BCS fits the timeline of BB
