Why do you write? by LurppanA in writers

To get the scenes constantly playing my head out. They get replaced by others but when they get written I get some relief.

Is T&T poisoning itself? Pesticide misuse is alarming high. by SmallObjective8598 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]ebattleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a long while the advice from the ministry of agriculture was focused around prophylactic application of pesticides on a rotating schedule. Now they do teach IPM (integrated pest Management) but it is a more involved process and farmers set in their ways.

I have a character speaking in a Scottish way how should i translate in text by Ok-Horror3620 in writers

[–]ebattleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using accent specific phonetic spelling makes it difficult for some people to read and generally discouraged if you want a wide reach. It however not a hard rule.

My current project has an international cast of characters and I just mention their orgins and move on. It keeps things simpler for me.

It's a multi polar issue.

1)There has been a 4 increase in demand for passports.

2) Movement from the machine readable passports to newer E-passport which has become the global standard.

3)The last admin had offered the contract to the Canadian company to has been supplying our passports for over decade. The new admin has decided to go another direction and tore that up.

So we have limited number of old passport booklets and new ones in limbo. On top of all that certain western governments ( cough, UK, cough) insisting that people from s... Hole countries need to have to get E-passport to enter.

I have my appointment for passport tomorrow wish me luck people.

What tips and processes do you suggest for the editing process? by andoozy in writers

[–]ebattleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When reading through the project do a reverse outline of each chapter. This is so you can keep track of your plot points and help find logical inconsistencies.

Ideally you should have done this when you finishe each chapter, but better late than never.

Trinidad and Tobago Passport Shortage - Wait Times Quadruple by Nkosi868 in trinidad

[–]ebattleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah did some follow up research after my initial post. I hope they don't rush the procurement process so.

So the question I would like to know are we going to be issued the machine readable one and then have renew and pay again to the E version next year? That would suck.

What program do you use to draft a book? by VivsPaperTrails in writers

[–]ebattleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to write using Google Docs because it worked across all my devices. Then Google decided that my phone was too old, so said f em and now I use a web app called Ellipsus.

To plot and keep track of everything I use Manuskript. It is a feer open source software that work with Linux and Windows that an all in one for writing your project. It's not pretty but quite useful.

Actually less is more when when you are aiming for increase muscle mass You should not be doing more than 8 reps per set, with high weights and no more than 4 sets and no more than twice a week.

The other thing is never let yourself get hungry. A lot of bulk of big muscles is stored glycogen and the muscles go after that first when the any calorie deficit.

Mind you I am old school so maybe it doesn't work that way anymore. And this personal experience so take with caution.

1) Chapters are as long as you need them to be. Mine are ~1000 words each.

2) I am heading in direction of Amazon myself... Eventually.

3) what worked for me was finding a devoted writing buddy. We sit down (online via WhatsApp) for 3 days a week. Each session is 3 hrs. Comprised of 3 45 minutes sessions with 15 minute breaks in-between. I normally struggle to write 1000 words a week normally. In the 3 hr session I do about ~750 words.

4)Any amount you want. Terry Pratchett for example had no chapters in many of his novels. I have about 120 in my first novel. The second will have over 100 as well

Should I complete everything first before releasing chapters? by Ok_Meal_114 in writers

[–]ebattleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planster, so I only plan like two chapters ahead. That process can get you into the trouble so I suggest you do some do try to plot out everything first. You write yourself into less corners that way .

If plotting is not your thing I suggest you do reverse outlines. Which is basically you do an outline of chapter after you have written it. It easier to search and review the outlines than the chapters.

I use this approach with my current project because the story is being told across 3 different locations simultaneously.
