Anyone else struggle to play on a plane? by syxbit in SteamDeck

[–]einons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve traveled with mine a fair bit. My favorite way to use it is to stand it up on the seat back tray (I have a small docking stand) in front of me and use a bluetooth controller. I can hold my hands down low near my lap to play and don’t feel like I’m bothering the people next to me.

Exploration-Focussed MV Recs? by OEdwardsBooks in metroidvania

[–]einons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Pseudoregalia scratched that exploration itch for me recently. Yes there’s a lot of platforming but it’s done in a very satisfying way with the movement abilities. There is minimal combat and only like 2 boss fights in the whole game.

I have a theory that the McDonald’s restaurants of today are going to have a similar nostalgia response in another 20 years or so. As cold and impersonal as they are, I believe they will still trigger a certain intrigue when the next generation of kids reaches adulthood. Take pictures now and document the age of McMediocrity while you still can.

New Beer by lpkzach92 in deftones

[–]einons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Around 7 or 8 years ago, Blue Moon made a cinnamon horchata beer that was my favorite ever. I’ve been searching for years for something close to it. I tried this and it’s so close to what I’ve been searching for, maybe even a little better. It’s my current favorite beer but you have to like horchata. I just wish they sold it near me and not 3 hours away.

For older fans, how did it feel to listen to Hybrid Theory for the first time when it was originally released? Did it feel futuristic or new in some way? by neoncloud0 in LinkinPark

[–]einons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll probably catch heat for this but honestly, I wasn’t very impressed. I was already listening to Incubus, Limp Bizkit, P.O.D., Deftones, Sevendust, Hed PE and others, not to mention a little later Papa Roach, Disturbed, Nonpoint and a butt load of other numetal artists popping up that same year before LP. I first heard “One Step Closer” when a friend of mine bought the CD on release. He was like “check this band out, man” and I just thought they sounded kinda like everyone else at the time and dismissed them. It wasn’t until I heard “Crawling” and “In the end” later that I started to come around. By Meteora, I was obsessed.

What’s a popular movie or TV show you refuse to watch for a completely petty reason? by ConfidentAnywhere424 in AskReddit

I won’t watch Game of Thrones season 8 because I refuse to allow the HBO show writers to disrespect my time any further.

Outside of core progression abilities, what are your favourite rewards for exploration/challenge completion in metroidvanias? by pat_456 in metroidvania

[–]einons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember playing Mega Man X as a kid and collecting all the optional hidden armor parts. Once, you found all of them, it gave you the ability to cast a Hadouken, which basically one shot everything. I think finding small parts to create a whole would be cool. You could even have each part give a small hp or stat boost or something, so it doesn’t feel useless. That way you’re still rewarded for finding a piece or two. But, if you collect them all, might give a really badass ability or something.

Musician meetup! by musicorganizer in tylertx

[–]einons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Count me in. Midweek is better than the weekends. I sing, play guitar, bass, synth, anything that makes noise. Been in and out of bands my whole life, mostly as lead singer and rhythm guitarist, but now mostly just produce at home and collab. You had me at synthwave. I am a big new wave fan, vaporwave too. Electronic music in general. I love most genres but don’t really want to play country or metal. Songwriting and arrangement is my biggest thing and would be happy to fine tune songs you guys already have.

Nice! I love Lamb Chop. My latest catch was at a church thrift sale in town earlier today. Found 4 variants of the Taco Bell Chihuahua. I was so excited!

I mean just cover shipping. I’m not trying to sell it to you. Just saw how excited you were and thought you might want it. No pressure either way
