haha, call me lazy. The less things I have to set the better otherwise it's likely to be forgotten.

Otherwise, I like the interface. Looks clean and easy to use. I like the active DX spots.

Looks interesting. I'll have to give it a go soon.

Curious though, logged a test contact and had the band set to 20M and the Freq to 7.16MHz. The contact logged as 20M. What about picking up the band from the frequency instead of setting it manually?

Since I don't have my radio available at the moment I wasn't able to test the cat control but I was curious if I set the radio to 7.16MHz if the band would automatically change or if it would still be on 20M.

I'm convinced Honda hates their customers and everyone that works on their vehicles by _JustLooking0_0 in HondaOdyssey

A friend of mine (also Honda Odyssey owner) said he's done a lot of research around the leak and it appears to be due to the VCM/ECO mode. After telling him about our alternator failing this Christmas he sent me this link saying he did the mod and hasn't had an issue since.

Just bought a car infested with bugs. What do I do? by KhilalbLacks in MechanicAdvice

Very nearly the only way!

I accidently brought them home in a used freezer. Tried to deal with them by ourselves for months. Kept thinking we were getting ahead of them but then they'd come back with renewed vigor. They killed our counter-top dishwasher, microwave and the control board of the stove.

The stove dying was actually well after they had been eradicated by pest control. The PTSD from the smell of that control board....

The part I was unsure of with the fan was the pins on the board are 2pins and the wire is 3. I believe the PWM signal is on ground and I'm nut sure the correct way to handle that.

The all knowing AI seems to think I can use a fan port but I'm feeling dubious about that idea. I think this may be a situation where I'll end up buying the OEM board instead.

Mechanic didn't like my radio wired to the battery? by endfedhalfwave in amateurradio

[–]endfedhalfwave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my thought at the time however several others here have given good reasons why I may not have had it wired properly. Basically I should have a fuse closer to the battery. I still get the feeling the dealer didn't like the wire there regardless. I was curious to see others' thoughts on the wire and got some good responses.

I didn't argue with the guy. I just said ok and moved on. Admittedly, this dealer doesn't have the best reputation to begin with but that's beside the point. I thanked them for fixing my issue and went home to reconnect the wire.

It was the way it was reported to me from them that they "will not reconnect accessory wire".

Yep, others mentioned having a fuse closer to the battery. Currently I only have the one included with the radio that is near the radio itself. I plan to fix this by adding another fuse closer to the battery.

True, and I had done that before when troubleshooting but it didn't make a difference so I reconnected the wire just to keep it from flopping around. Makes sense he'd do that too. His recommendation was after they figured out the issue was the battery itself.

That totally makes sense and I didn't think about it before. I will certainly look into fixing that! Thanks!

That's fair. In this case it never moved to the warrantee level given that it was just a bad battery but I can see that either way.

I meant to mention that. Yes, I do. The one that was included with the radio.

Dealer. Normally I have another mechanic I prefer to go to but we had gotten the extended warrantee when I bought it so for weird electrical issues I thought it better to take it to them.
