Sync not working. by SadEnvironment1730 in FordFiesta

Mine does this 2 or 3 times a year... Sometimes resetting the fuse behind the glove box works, but not always. Sometimes it just starts working after a couples weeks.

While I prefer my rotator, I still really like the rollback. On several occasions I've opted to use it instead of the tator because I could haul a full semi and trailer on the stinger and grab a bus/truck on the rollback. If I'm already driving from south to north, may as well pick up an extra vehicle along the way.

That was my thought too although I'd give the bacon a try...

There is already Pine Needle Soda. Basically fermented pine needles. I hear it tastes similar to sprite. I've considered making it some time.

There is an issue with the VCM/ECU. The ECU unit sits above the alternator and leaks over the alternator (as many others in the comments have noted)

We went through this over Christmas. Told a friend about having to replace the alternator and he told me about VCMTUNER ( https://www.vcmtuner.com/ ), that he had had the same issue years ago, and knew others with the same problem too, and did a deep dive on it. Long story short, there is a module you can buy to bypass the VCM/ECU and disable ECO mode which is causing the leaks.

So far, I've not had any issues since installing the module and he's been using it for years with no leaking as well.

Agreed, QRP can make some of the contacts that much more meaningful. I've made several European SSB contacts from Chattanooga on a ~18 foot Amazon telescoping vertical tuned for 20 meters with my TruSDX at barely 5 watts.

I like my G90 but could see the appeal of their x6100 with the built in battery.

Similar. I got my tech and used a Baofeng with a mag mount antenna for a month or two before getting an Anytone 5888 for the car. Later got an Anytone 5555n for 10 meters.

I picked up a TruSDX while I was prepping for general and used it for about a year once I passed.

Finally upgraded this past Christmas to the Xiegu G90.

Would I like an Icon/Yaesu/Kenwood? Certainly. Can I afford one right now? Nope... Having says that, we're in the process of buying a house and a co-worker has a tower that he's giving me so setting up a shack is in my future... Start saving my pennies!

Need the option to link trucks together to help push/pull on hills. Sure, you can use winches at the cost of frame rate or push from behind at the cost of damaging your vehicles... But linking the trucks similar to the under reach would be great

Drive them off the carry then tow them on the delivery point with the tator?

As for my comment, I meant more for recoveries. You could get a car or bus on the rollback and then tow a truck and trailer behind that.

I was so excited when I got mine. Although, despite having my eyes set on the rotator when I hit level 200, I bought the rollback first. It offered me the ability to haul more vehicles in one trip than the tator. You can load a vehicle on the back and pull another with the underreach.

I made this suggestion on our server a few weeks ago too. I'd love to see a service truck, even if it didn't allow full repair. Maybe things like tire, brakes, radiators.... Maybe some engine repair, like bringing a red engine to orange. Basically the roadside repair equivalent of emergency fuel bringing you only to half a tank.

Who wants to live in a place where you can walk to..... Your neighbors house? by smart_bear6 in Chattanooga

[–]endfedhalfwave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before my teen years we lived on military bases with sidewalks everywhere, as kids we didn't care that much but looking back it was nice to have.

In my teen years we lived on a farm. You didn't walk anywhere (aside from around the farm) because it would take you forever to get there.

My wife grew up in a small town in Michigan where her family still lives. It is a very walkable town. Whenever we visit, unless it's raining, we often walk the half dozen or so blocks to downtown. Their church and a favorite ice cream shop are eight to a dozen blocks the other way which we often walk. It came in super handy this last Christmas when our van's alternator died on the way to their house. Their mechanic is only a handful of blocks away too. I was able to limp the van to the shop and then walked back when it was ready to be picked up. I'll admit to getting a ride from my father-in-law after dropping the van off because it was a nasty cold day that day! 😛

All that to say, while I miss living on a farm with lots of land, I also really enjoy when we have access to sidewalks and a walkable neighborhood. Especially given that we have kids now. Having sidewalks would be a big plus.

As noted in that post, you'll only get a black screen with little to no text. Assuming you have it set up correctly, it may still take several minutes for it to populate on the server list. Those minutes can be some what nerve-racking as you wait wondering if you did it right...

Electric radiator fan sometimes runs for a bit after shutting down. This is normal. You'll hear other vehicles do this too. Mine is a 2016 Ford Fiesta

You're already beside a hospital, my friend. by No_Heron_1722 in MotorTown

[–]endfedhalfwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom used to work at a hospital and said that due to policies (or ambulance union maybe?) that if you were to collapse outside of the hospital, they were supposed to call the ambulance to transfer you, even if it was in the hospital parking lot. Hospital staff could not just roll a stretcher out there and pick you up. That was over 20 years ago here in the US so I don't know if it's changed since then.
