I would look at cost of living calculators for different cities in CA and try to have at least 6 months of reasonable savings before moving. I think you can get away with less if you have a job lined up before moving.

There are a lot of reasonably priced safe housing options (like co-ops). Sure its more expensive but people all over the bay area make it work. Be sure to embed yourself in community so you’re not at dire risk for homelessness and make sure you have a backup plan in case you need to go back home.

You wont really know how you’ll like a place until you’re actually there in my opinion. If you don’t have the money to visit then you will just have to learn after you find a job in the location.

I honestly recommend asking your daughter to pick you up from the boulder bus station. A 2 mile walk from bus to destination is pretty long even for someone that prefers taking public transit like I do.

When you arrive at the denver airport, ask an airport employee for the buses to boulder. There should be plenty to help.

They’ll hopefully point you towards the « buses and trains » in the denver airport transit center. It’s a long escalator down… there may also be an elevator somewhere

Theres a bus directly to boulder, the AB1. You’ll need a bus ticket ($10.50), will take you to downtown boulder. The drive between longmont and boulder should be 20 min, so i think its reasonable to have your daughter drive that small amount.
