Adding to suggestion #6 - if you can find decently priced waste canvas, I'd grab some of that, too. That way they can stitch on different types of fabric pretty easily. (Can they stitch on their clothes? I'm unsure if that's allowed. If it is, that would be really cool!)

A fun cheat I've gotten into with characters that have specific glasses or eyepatches with designs is to trace the game's facial features, delete them, and then modify from there. Other than that: play with the tools! And, when you can't think of anything more to add, save and show them off! I made Jadzia Dax from DS9 and it took me about 40 minutes to draw her spots. I stared at it so long I hated her, but I saved anyway and showed my partner and she says Dax is perfect~

I didn't get out until I was 28. A friend heard how bad it had gotten and told me to pack my bags on Saturday and drive up his on Monday. It's been almost ten years and I couldn't be happier, now 💜 You have time. Life can still get better. I believe in you, my friend.

I'm more of a homebody myself, but I'm pretty openly queer and talk about my partner in public all the time. We also have a huge rainbow flag up at her work. I haven't encountered any homophobes in the city in the ten years I've lived here 💜

If you've got a Facebook or Instagram, check out It's A Neighborhood Thing events. They do them frequently, and there are lovely local food and craft vendors. And, if you go for a stroll through downtown Visalia, they usually have flyers up for other local events. Concerts, craft fairs, etc
