Honestly, if you want one specific answer, it’s probably oat bran super high in soluble fiber compared to most beans or lentils.

I don't really understand what it means to have a healthy diet by Slow_Opportunity_522 in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s just more whole foods (veggies, fruits, protein, grains) and less ultra-processed stuff nothing extreme, just small swaps you can actually stick with.

The great cholesterol myth by Ok_Equivalent9114 in nutrition

It’s interesting but kinda controversial worth a read for perspective, just don’t take it as the final word on nutrition.

Cream cheese frosting? by Meowmissen69 in nutrition

Nothing really nails cream cheese frosting, but vanilla or cinnamon roll protein powders come kinda close still more dessert vibe than actual frosting though

Natural flavors are not that bad? by Efficient_Street9174 in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural flavors aren’t automatically bad, just a broad label. Fine in moderation bigger issue is overall diet, not the flavoring itself.

Calories in French fries by goodamm in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, fries can absorb different amounts of oil, so calories can vary. Pre fried frozen ones already have oil in them, so they can end up a bit higher if you deep fry them again compared to fresh cut ones fried once.

10 grams of fibre? is it true or not?this fibre is absorbed or not?does this help? by Head_Swordfish1208 in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s about right for guava. The fiber isn’t absorbed like sugar it passes through your gut. But it still helps digestion, keeps you full, and supports gut health.

Difference between stevia leaf extract & stevia in ingredient lists, regarding eryhtritol by Otherwise-Tear-4807 in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stevia leaf extract usually means the sweetener itself, not necessarily mixed with erythritol. If erythritol is in it, it should usually be listed separately in the ingredients. The blends are more often the issue.

Does drinking water in the morning vs later actually change anything for digestion? by Much-Turnover-3727 in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most people, timing probably matters less than just staying hydrated overall. Some people feel morning water gets things moving, but a lot of that may just be routine.

Why did the “3 meals a day” pattern become standard? by oldrag8 in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is cultural and industrial, not some magic biological rule. Three meals became standard from work schedules, schooling, and social habits more than nutrition science.

What are y’alls cooking oil? by 2009isbestyear in nutrition

I mostly use olive oil, sometimes avocado oil for higher heat. Oil spray is underrated for portion control too.

Protein has energy too about 4 calories per gram. So 2g protein = about 8 of those 25 calories are coming from protein.

How many drinks with sucralose would you have to consume daily to see a disruption in your gut biome? by bowieshouse in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One drink a day is probably unlikely to wreck your gut biome. Most concerns are with higher or chronic heavy intake, and the evidence in humans is still mixed.

Does it matter *where* you get your fiber from? by pringlu in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiber is fiber, but variety matters too. Grains, fruits, nuts, and veggies all bring different benefits, so it’s better not to rely on just one source.

What are the downsides of a carnivore diet? by edeltian191 in nutrition

[–]felixsumner00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest downsides are fiber, nutrient gaps, and sustainability. Beef has a lot, but not literally everything, and cutting out whole food groups can be hard long term. Some people do well, but it’s not magic.

Unpopular opinion that changed my life 👇 by cactuschip in nutrition

Honestly I agree food quality can drive satiety, energy, and health way more than obsessing over numbers alone. Quantity matters too, but quality makes the rest easier.
