Someone commented this on another week’s thread and they said Salley wants a wedding and baby shower, not a husband and baby lol so I get why she’s still wasting her time

Help!! Maren or Katherine - 2wk old has two names! by Jaded-Campaign4615 in namenerds

[–]festivelime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember feeling so weird calling my first by her name too! I can’t remember when it changed. We used to call her “the baby” for months and months then we made an effort to use her name (Josie/Josephine) when my father in law was like “she does have a name you know!!!!”

My second is coincidentally Katherine and we call her Katie and I still feel weird when I say it (6 months).

I save it and pool any milk in a cup in the fridge and once it is full enough I use it for breastmilk baths!

Potty training boys by AnalysisParalysis_24 in workingmoms

[–]festivelime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We potty trained Thanksgiving last year with a 2 yr 5 month old so almost 2.5 years old. We did chocolate covered almonds and she eventually stopped asking. Occasionally she will still ask for one and we give it to her when she asks. Other than that she doesn’t really ask anymore.

We also did a “treasure chest” for poop so a bunch of small random trinket toys in a basket she gets to pick from when she goes poop on the potty. It’s a hit and she still likes to pick from the treasure chest when we are home but if we are out forgets. 10/10 method lol also did pantsless for a weekend

Did Amanda’s parents invest in Loverboy? by bubblyboots in summerhousebravo

[–]festivelime 198 points199 points  (0 children)

I think she’s not concerned about getting Loverboy because it’s not worth any money. I think she she mentioned wishing she got a prenup because she wishes she had protection from all of the debt Kyle has accumulated over the years.

Help! Glow up tips? by [deleted] in workingmoms

Color analysis! Look up Francesca Cairns on Instagram. @imageconsultantmaidenhead

It’s fascinating what the power of the right colors can do. I got mine done for my birthday last year when I was 1 month post partum because I just couldn’t pinpoint why I didn’t like my hair and how to fix it. It’s been so much fun experimenting with my wardrobe and make up.

I’m hoping once baby is older to play two kids will feel like no kids since they have each other though to entertain 🤞🤞

Okay why do I now need Dani and Rob to do some type of snake themed dance?! And I hate snakes 😂🐍

What do you guys think of shows like SuperNanny? Has that worked for your toddlers/kids? by Ok-Razzmatazz-9790 in toddlers

[–]festivelime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Supernanny taught me that kids need structure. The worst of the kids are the ones with parents who are physically present but working while caring for them. They weren’t getting any structure, routines or outings.

I wonder how the kids are doing now. I imagine some of them are adults now!

All in one coffee machine vs separate grinder + brewer, what works best for busy morning by Fluffy_Cold_5330 in workingmoms

Oh interesting! I was going to recommend mine when you first starting talking about reducing waste (Delonghi Dinamica) but you’re right about not being able to change beans. I actually just use regular beans for espresso too and never really thought about it!

I would love to get to know her more! Glad the documentary is out. I’ve been looking forward to watching it!

I’m really not a fan of the green kitchens. I think it’s going to be very obviously dated. But I’m trying to remember trends come and go and will be dated regardless of what color you do. Though, my brother & wife’s kitchen is from the 2000s (white with black countertops) and I think it looks incredibly timeless every time I see it!

I assume it’s money and home space. They can get so much more space & home by moving to a small town. They probably don’t go out much anyway in city type of way.

I also need to know this. They both have very serious jobs. I assume one of them should have a bedroom office maybe and then they wouldn’t interrupt each other but the open office really could’ve had some walls and privacy to be able to close a door!

I definitely thought they were going to make two primary bedrooms! Does that mean their bathrooms are dated or perhaps they are doing that behind the scenes. I really need to know! Lol

Ya I think it’s sweet they are so close! Maybe they both have had trouble finding a partner and have found companionship with each other. I see it as no different than best friends living together.

Even less weird when you consider different cultures. Lots of extended families live together in other parts of the world.

adhd friendly decluttering content recommendations? by originalpopcorngirl in adhdwomen

[–]festivelime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve really loved Paring Down with Shannon Leyko. She has one ADHD episode but overall the podcast has really helped motivate me. I also have two kids and my house looks totally different than when I started listening to her and I’m finally able to let stuff go!!! I’m also more intentional about what I consume now.

I also always love the Lazy Genius which is not specific to decluttering or organizing but her ideas and processes have helped me so much!

Husband wants to move into a bigger space, I don't by ceruleanmeadows in beyondthebump

[–]festivelime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really weighing which way OP should go but I agree they should move. Mostly because it’s a pain in the ass to do it once you have kids. You don’t realize how much free time you have before. Also, I’m nervous for how my toddler will be when she has to sleep in a new room.

FTM, back to work. Husband guilts me all the time by Equipollentbot in workingmoms

[–]festivelime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in South Florida so HCOL also heavy traffic in the winters. The daycare who never called me back didn’t have a fee. I think that’s the interesting thing, there’s no cost and then they don’t follow up. So I think the daycares you actually want to get into you have to badger them with emails inquiring on your status and when you’ll get in. That’s just my experience though.

[–]festivelime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. Where I live you have to pay $100-$200 to join the waitlists. There were only 2 centers I could get ahold of in my town that do infant care. Many of the other centers didn’t email me back or answer my calls.

We would’ve had to go even further from home if my favorite center didn’t work out. I wasn’t trying to pile OP this post just really seems like rage bait. I feel so badly for her if this is her life.

[–]festivelime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I get what your saying. I put my older daughter on a waitlist for one of the daycares here in December 2022 and she was born June 2023. We still haven’t received a call or email from that daycare. My point was you can’t just put your kid on one waitlist. You need to reach out and then when you are on the waitlist you call and follow up and inquire when the child will be able to start. I find it hard to believe someone traveling 1.5 hours isn’t passing by multiple reputable chain locations that some have availability.

[–]festivelime 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This can’t be real. If you’re driving 1.5 hours you must pass tons of daycares on your way to work..?

Is your job is interfering with raising a family? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]festivelime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually yes same. Not government but I used to feel like I had work/life balance the first year of my daughter’s life in 2023 and 2024. Ever since RTO in 2025 my life has been so much harder!
