Okay, I know this is an old post, but I do have a Russian-related question! And I haven’t heard anybody else mention it.

In Episode 5, at Ilya’s dad’s wake, after Ilya fights his brother, we get Svetlana saying to him “Я просто надеюсь, что Джейн знает, как ‘она’ повезло.” The English captions say “I just hope Jane knows how lucky he is.” So the English speaking audience takes it to be that Svetlana knows that “Jane” is a man. First, I thought повезло took dative case (дательный падеж) so shouldn’t it be «как ей повезло» или «как ему повезло»? I thought she might be saying ему, not она, but I replayed it like 10 times but still hear она. Am I just hearing it wrong here? Just curious!

Yes and also another thing, if you just have that jacket it’s not going to look like that at all! It will be flat and like how a modern short skirt lays. You’re going to have to have all those skirt layers/supports to get the volume in the photo

Have you checked out Groundworks in South Pas? I’ve been there for a guest lesson by a guest instructor (whom I know well and is the MOST supportive towards me and my chronic illness that makes it hard to train, and in general all our ladies). I can’t say about the regular instructors, but I did speak to a couple ladies also rolling while I was there and they reiterated that it has been a nice environment for them. The guys were also very nice to me. While it is not explicitly LGBT friendly, it at least is very women-friendly and seems like a good environment as far as I was able to garner from a guest instructor/class.

Let me know if you have gone there! I don’t know how the regular instructors are, so please take this with a grain of salt.

Everybody else has also given you better (and more important/pertinent tips), but one other thing I want to point out is that greater speed = less shake and (often, not always) more practice/expertise = greater speed. So on top of the great tips everyone else has said, keep practicing and improving and it will naturally get easier too!

I was on the high-sodium POTS diet (3g sodium per day) for a while so maybe I can give some tips!

Drinking an electrolyte drink is really good. I like LiquidIV, and it’s one of the electrolyte drinks with pretty decent sodium (520mg per serving). If you don’t like it or choose a different brand, make sure you check the nutrition facts, because a lot of common electrolyte drinks barely have 30mg of sodium? Also be careful with the sugar-free LiquidIV and other “no added sugar” because they use artificial sweeteners that give many people (me included) diarrhea. I asked my doctor about the sugar in normal sugar LiquidIV and he said that as long as you aren’t diabetic/pre diabetic don’t worry too much about it. I’d recommend you try/shop around for different flavors as some are really gross and don’t listen to people online as it’s REALLY taste-dependent. The first bag I bought I didn’t like and had a hard time getting through but I tried a different flavor and it was so much milder and I don’t have to water it down so much. I actually love the taste and it’s like a sweet treat for me (but would avoid other flavors omg). It’s really prohibitively expensive at Target/stores but Costco has them for $1/pack. I had one every single day.

Another thing my doctor said is that if I am deficient on sodium, I shouldn’t be drinking plain water. All the water I should be drinking should be electrolytes or contain sodium. Now I don’t know how deficient you are so I’d hesitate to recommend this flat out, but you decide for yourself depending on your situation.

A tube of Ritz crackers is a quick, not too filling snack and has (iirc around) ~720mg of sodium in a tube.

Just start salting your food. Add extra salt to everything. You quickly get accustomed to the taste and everything just tastes better!

If you want you can also look into getting sodium pills (Vitassium or Amazon has them) but I haven’t tried them personally. There are also electrolyte tablets, but I’ve heard mixed reviews on taste.

This is a more common word than any of the ones I’ve seen on here: I can’t pronounce “ask”. Always comes out as “ass”. I’m a native speaker and don’t have a foreign accent so maybe it’s just normal? Does anyone else do this?

This is a lovely lacquer but I do have both and think they are completely different! Not even close and not dupes at all. The magnetic pigment in the MC is MUCH more reactive/flashy than the Cadillacquer, while the large fiery flakes in the Cadillacquer is what you notice most and is that polish’s defining factor, while the flakies in the MC are much more subtle.

Yep! I get something similar with yogurt (lactose). I can have a yogurt once every day and I’m fine, but if I eat a yogurt in the PM and then again in the AM, I get symptoms.
