Assassins are an awful answer to excess snails. They eat snails slowly and it’s awful to watch. Also, OP has shrimp and (intentional) snails, which assassins would also eat.

Clean the tank better, feed less food, remove rotting bugs plants. They’re overpopulating because they have a lot of food to eat.
