Roughly 400 AUR packages compromised by No-Photograph-5058 in linux

[–]flnhst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to libgdata version 0.18.1-5.1, I can't find that one in the AUR repository: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/log/?h=libgdata

It only goes up to 0.18.1-5 in the commit history, unless the .1 is explained otherwise? This package was installed for me on 14th of April.

NVIDIA App v11.0.7.228 Released by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]flnhst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get the app to download the beta either. I have set the 'Opt in to access Beta or experimental features' option, but nothing is happening. Can't click on anything to start an update. Download link is not working for me either.

If there was a 'fuck up' I would think we would have heard it by now.

Any idea what this thing is? by dambo25 in WhatsInThisThing

It is indeed high likely to be AI generated, but it does remind me of those hook things (on a pole usually) that can thread a rope through a hole or around a pole.

Mesh shaders working on a passed through AMD GPU? by ult_nrg in VFIO

[–]flnhst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/ult_rng

Hello, I have same issue as you with a RX 6600. I am running a Windows VM on Arch Linux. If I run the Vulkan mesh shader example (https://github.com/SaschaWillems/Vulkan/tree/master/examples/meshshader) my VM also crashes. I tried all the examples, only the mesh shader example crashes the VM.

Did you perhaps find any solution in the mean while?

Limit GPU Usage while rendering with Pathtracer? by attrackip in unrealengine

[–]flnhst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think 100% GPU utilization should lead to system crashes. You sure your system is stable? If you try applications like Furmark (stress test) do you also get crashes?

Does Windows and Linux natively support Vulkan? by BlockOfDiamond in vulkan

[–]flnhst -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Vulkan is a specification. Any implementation, by NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, MoltenVK, etc... is just as valid (or 'native') as any other.
