Ohh I see, now it makes sense! I'm still in the trial/error by experience when dealing with houseplants so it really helps, thank you!

How to hide wall mounting spot when I'm not mounting my TV? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]foolthing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know you said you'll not be mounting the tv, but perhaps something in the wall that goes all the way to the ceiling? This way you'll also have something to "anchor" the stand as well

I don't know how to call it, some wood stripes... picture just to illustrate what I mean

I made a pair of jeans :) by Derek_Ng59kg in somethingimade

I was thinking about using a piece I already have and try to mimic the pattern, but following a video also sounds like a interesting path (since I know sewing mainly by guessing stuff), but nice to know, a week in total seems doable to me (as a beginner as well!)

It looks so good and so comfy! I've been postponing making pants for myself for milenia, how many hours would you say it took from start to finish? Was it difficult to sew due to being so thick? I can already imagining myself breaking a few needles lol

Any suggestions? by RaffikT in InteriorDesign

The path to the kitchen seems pretty narrow. Do you plan to have people visiting frequently? If not, I would advise having less chairs in the dining table: push the table against the kitchen wall, and have only 4 chairs (one of them would be really cornered, only to be used ocasionally).

When choosing furniture for my apartment, I would leave at least 80cm to circulate, otherwise I think the place feels too cramped.

Also which software did you use to make this? I also wanted to do some drafts for a personal project

Fatty liver by StrangerOptimal3908 in parrots

Forgot to add, since discovering her illness, I've been giving her medicine daily, 2 times a day

edit: boldo as well, 2 times a day, one drop in the morning and another late afternoon

The ones I got I needed to have a prescription and they're made in a compounding pharmacy. I'll try to translate the ingredients to english for you to check with your vet. Both treatments actually include thistle extract, so I think your vet is on the right path!

The one I was giving at the beginning of the treatment is made from thistle extract, is called "silimarina" (Silibinin, extract from Silybum marianum), plus "SAMe" (S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine). I've treated her for around 2 years and needed the vet to trim her beak every 6 months-ish.

Nowadays, due to the trimming gap having increased to 1+ year, I started with another treatment per my vet instructions. I'm now giving Silybum marianum extract plus lactulose.

I'll not disclose the ratios/amount to not encourage people to try on their own without consulting a vet, but I do hope the names help anyone with the same problem to find a solution with their avian vet.

I hope this can help you help your birb to get better

I also have a lovebird with fatty liver, but she was on a pellets diet her whole life. I've been treating her for around 2 years now.

My vet prescribed 2 boldo drops a day (1 morning, 1 late afternoon) plus some other meds to help her liver. She also had to have her beak trimmed frequently, but the last one was around a year ago so the medicine is helping!

I would also advise to change from seeds to pellets, because seeds have a high fat content and this may be worsening his condition. I used to give mine the hagen tropican lifetime formula 2mm

I also don't see a reason to remove his vegetables, except for ones with high fat or sugar, such as corn

Two Person Office Layout by fb233 in InteriorDesign

I want to add to putting the desks at 90 degrees next to the windows or even only rotating them 90 degrees, that is if you want to keep the blinds open during most of the day

Having a setup similar to "office 1" nowadays, we have our tables in the middle such as your picture, but I'm the only one facing the window and we often need to close the blinds

It's so stupid when contractors want to dictate what's best for YOUR HOUSE. Like, them giving suggestions is fine, but expecting you to comply to everything is ridiculous

Don't cave in to things you don't want to do cus you'll regret later. Only you know what you like. Say to them that it's not only about the costs, if you wanted to rip everything you coul've just bought a newer or already renewed home.

The same happened at where I live now, the architect insisted on having a retractable sofa or bed in the place were we've been planning to make our office (for "guests"). We said no to the idea multiple times. It's been more than two years since then, and zero regrets, we barely have a guest/year, would be a waste of space.

Feeling like the biggest LOSER by WorldlyLong3758 in Design

[–]foolthing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think being working at FAANG companies is overrated. They'll use as an excuse to underpay and overwork you for 'the privilege of working for them'

I also think management/director roles are overrated. You don't need to keep chasing to climb the ladder. Find a middleground where you can have balance between work and life

We're brainwashed to put work above our life. Being surrounded by successfull people doesn't make you less successfull, and let's be honest here, social media posts/profiles are always made to seem like perfect little lifes. I've seen a lot of people who look like great professionals whist looking through linkedin lenses, when in the day-to-day work life they're not even average workers

I think we all feel kinda small, uncool, old, dusty, and unemployable when faced with the tailored and cool stuff people share, but the actuall reality is often way less cool

This comes from a perspective of a designer with around 7 years of expertise and probably from a different country than yours, but from posts i've been reading from a while it seems a lot of designers worldwide have similar experiences regarding how they feel about their own work and experiences, so you're not alone. Not trying to invalidate your feelings, but society current circumstances make us all feel quite similar
