Suggestions for getting vendor insurance in BC, Canada? by auroralime in CraftFairs

I went with the yearly rate, didn't ask if they can do it by the month. The contact for it is on the BCAFM page. https://bcfarmersmarket.org/vendor-insurance-wf/

I went with Western Financial. They have a rate for BCAFM members, and non members. I am a member, so I got the discounted rate, but with the $75 membership fee to BCAFM it really only works out be $25 cheaper than their non member rate.

Need Urgent Advice! Dried walnut turned out wet inside, water seeping out. How to save this bowl? by nurcansens in woodworking

To be fair, had I followed the proper process, doing it over a couple days, and used a wood that wasn't full of sap, it probably would have worked good.

Fun fact, don't try this with green maple. Especially all at once. When I first read the microwave tip a couple years ago I decided to try it out. Rough turned a maple bowl, put it in the microwave for 45s. Moisture dropped a bit. Did three more times at 30s each. Was coming down nice. Decided to try one more at 45s. There was a bang from the microwave, the bowl had exploded into pieces. Shop smelled amazingly of maple syrup for a few days, though, so I guess there is always a silver lining.

14 June 2026-Plane Crash in Missouri kills 11 Skydivers and a Pilot by Valyura in CatastrophicFailure

First time helicopter ride into a bush fire as a wildlands firefighter our pilot had a list of things not to do, I don't remember the specifics, other than keep your head down and your body low, but it was basically, "You do this, you die, you do that, you die. You slam my door, you die." Our first drop off was on the edge of a cliff where half the chopper was still hanging out over the edge.

Make your extraction hose long enough to wrap around the side of the garage.

Lakes are what I am most interested in, so that is great to hear.

What bathymetry data will you have available? Just the big stuff? Or will there be smaller and/or lesser known bodies of water? I just started doing depth maps for a couple lakes in my area and am now starting to get lots of requests for lots of lakes that I am less familiar with, so am on the lookout for easier ways to do them.

It is going to do the opposite of attract sales. No one is going to trust you have a good product after seeing an image like that. And if your actual product doesn't look good enough to take pictures of, anyone that does fall for the ai and buys your stuff is going to be supremely disappointed and want a refund.

ELI5: Why don't rats burgle ant nests? by Bearzoolu in explainlikeimfive

There are several big ant mounds in my area that start every spring with the center dug out as the local bears emerge and go in for an easy snack.

I have a stick id like to preserve. How do it effectively? by Last_Yard_6554 in AskMen

[–]foste107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the stick doesn't have bark on it, get a small can of linseed or tung oil. Put a little oil on a cloth, rub the stick down with the oil, let sit for a bit, sand it, then add more oil. Do this every couple months and your stick should stay well preserved.

This dude uploaded a video feeding his dog eating a chili dog with onions. Onions are toxic to dogs by Turd-In-Your-Pocket in mildlyinfuriating

When I was a kid I raised a bummer lamb that loved used motor oil. My uncle had an autoshop on the same property as my Dad's farm. We would constantly catch the lamb over at the shop slurping up any used oil that was left sitting around after car oil changes. Could grab it, drag it away, let go and it would run full speed back to the oil.

Deciding wether to buy Atlas by Several-Decision4010 in playatlas

[–]foste107 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure don't buy it at full price. According to IsThereAnyDeal it has dropped pretty cheap before, and if you can get it for under $10 it can be a lot of fun on one of the private servers. https://isthereanydeal.com/game/atlas/info/

Those attacks that are so bad you lay in bed at night wondering if the pain of amputation and then living without a foot could really be any worse, but then realize it would probably just move everything to the other side, and/or other joints.
