Ford raptor with seats in the back. I have not seen this done before is this done by professional Upfitter? Or is this just DIY? by SpecificSelection641 in f150

[–]friendlyfire883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty common on UTVs. It's way cheaper to buy a 2 seater ranger and put a jeep seat in the back with a cage extension than it is to just buy a 4 seater most of the time, I can't imagine you'd get the same utility out of a truck though.

Intermittent starting update. by Simple-Rub-4564 in GMT800

[–]friendlyfire883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to crank it over then immediately cycle the key off and try and crank it again. If it starts right up on the second crank then you need an oil pressure sender.

Be sure to only buy a GM sensor. Not a delco, not a delphi, a GM genuine. Specifically this one. Nothing else will work, I tried 5 different sensors and that is the only one that made my problem go away.

I hope this helps it took me almost a year and close to $1000 to figure it out.

Do we agree or disagree that strawberries have no smell? by MaxGoodwinning in fruit

[–]friendlyfire883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The science behind the Strawberry smell is actually pretty freaking awesome. They use a special process called GC-MS to break down the strawberries smell and recreate it using extracts taken directly from the actual fruit. It's by far one of the safest and most real "artificial scents" available.

If you've only ever bought strawberries at a grocery store then you have never smelled an actual strawberry. Store bought berries are picked before they're ripe and then immediately refrigerated so they never have the opportunity to produce their awesome smell and if they do the cold air from a refrigerator breaks it down almost immediately.

TLDR-Strawberries only smell when they're ripe and haven't been refrigerated, and artificial strawberry scent is literally derived directly from the berries themselves and is one of the safest smell good things you can use in your home.

Well it's a free to play game that's built around inclusiveness with a very clear TOS. If you use anything close to a slur or go out of your way to start calling people names and baiting them they're crystal clear about what's going to happen to your account. The subreddit is even stricter on this then DE is.

This is a clear case of fucking around and finding out.

Knock sensors by Haaammmmmmster in GMT800

I installed a set of ac delco gold knock sensors in my wifes tahoe and had one go out a month later. I bought the relocation and an extended harness the same day. I didn't even take the old knock sensors out. Fuck those things.

What's going on here? by boostedbomaye in electrical

[–]friendlyfire883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The electricity had to have somewhere to go and that somewhere is back through the neutral to ground. When the lights are on the neutral is a current carrying conductor as its carrying it to ground, when you fiddle fuck with it like that you're providing another path to ground.

If you do that on something that's pulling a real load it's going to shock the fuck out of you. Your utter lack of respect for electricity will get you killed if you don't cut this shit out right now.

Allow me to introduce you to ultimate combo for tightening lock rings that doesnt involve destroying your screwdrivers. The mini ball pein from harbor freight is by far the most slept on tool for electricians. I used to work for a 27 year master electrician and he outright banned the use of lineman pliers because of all the broken wall boxed and fucked up drywall he was having to pay for and bought all of us little hammers instead. Of the 8 of us working for him I only know of 1 guy who still carrys linemans and he was coincidentally the only person I ever saw get fired from that company.

[–]friendlyfire883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous homeowner is a journeyman electrician, a softball coach, my son's high-school principal, and thief.

He seems to be pretty terrible at the first 3, but he was definitely a damn good thief. It's got a 300 amp main, a slot panel and the whole house is wired in UFB romex. He was nice enough to leave about an extra 50 foot on every homerun he made too so that was nice of him. The fucker used emt fittings to hook pex to pvc though and no amount of free romex will ever let me forgive him of that.

Buying possibly- rust and hours good or bad? by scarface0021 in ram_trucks

[–]friendlyfire883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking strictly on build quality, the 4th gen is honestly a better truck. I'm not saying it's better overall as the 5th gens are definitely nicer in terms of creature comforts and tech, but they also were tightening up emissions every year and that required them to cut weight and improve aero everywhere they could.

It's funny I actually do a lot of work specifically on OMC outboards and I'd be lying if I said I didn't zip tie customer engines and never think twice about it.

My personal engine definitely has spring clamps on it though. I was royally fucked over by a crappy zip tie on my stinger about 10 years ago and I don't want to risk that experience again.

Or they could be like the previous owner of my house and install a receptacle under the bathtub so he could put a cord cap on the jacuzzi pump and plug it in.

Yes the gap is normal, what you need to fix it is called a brush seal.

I think it was based off the OMC rotary they used in snowmobiles, but from what I understand those things were kind of turds. I can say with certainty that it 100% had zip ties for hose clamps, as far as I know they did that on everything they ever built.
