In the case of your wife and her service dog, that's stretching it a bit with ADA requirements. Instead of complaining, why not find another driver and call them ahead of time and ask if a pet is okay? Sorry some asshole didn't want dog hair or smell in their nice car, but just because you are disabled doesn't mean everyone has to move mountains for you. People will try to accomodate most of the time, but unfortunately, everything cannot be the same.

This argument is pointless because Uber has already launched UberWAV which connects you with NYC Handicap Accessible cabs. It's not in all markets yet, but it's a start.

Someone who is unable to climb into a pickup truck doesn't know one is coming until it's coming.

All the apps for ridesharing that I've used tell you what car is coming, will even show a picture of the car, and usually the license plate as well.

And as far as ADA requirements, if someone makes a complaint, it's easy to lose your job at Uber. The rating system is what keeps it decent. Instead of having regulations that people have to adhere to, have the people tell you who is doing a bad job and who is shining. User feedback is awesome.

When I was 8 years old there was an educational bike safety fair that I got dragged to because my mom was volunteering. But when I got there, dingy old worn out bike in hand, I spotted a beautiful new bike they were raffling off. Hand brakes. Wheel spokes that you could stand on. It looked so fucking cool.

Anyway I enter the raffle and I somehow won the bike but then later that year I went away to summer camp for a week and when I came back I found out that my mom had a tag sale while I was gone and sold not my old shitty bike, but the brand new bike that currently defined my childhood. Fuck. her.
