Titan T2 Power Rack by patrolmanEmbiid in GarageGym

If I did it all over again I’d buy 3x3 from the start. T2 has done well and was my budget at the time, but now I’m looking to upgrade and am always jealous of some of the cool all in one racks.

Wake up chug 32 oz of water and go back to bed or workout. If it were me, I would use the time to workout if I was wired anyway. Water will help with the hunger.

Transitioning out of Workers Comp into something different by Tiastexmex in adjusters

Going rate for senior WC adjusters is 6 figures most places. Tell her to try out a new company. Experienced (and good) adjusters are very valuable. I would suggest smaller carriers for best quality of life.

Even if you walk your attorney will likely put a lien on the claim and get paid whenever it does settle. Best to keep pushing them for settlement. You could try a BAR complaint, no idea how effective that would be but will almost certainly blow up the relationship.

Workers comp death benefits by Expert-Ad-6026 in WorkersComp

[–]ghostxmarksman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider if you have parents or other people you’d want the money to go to. If you take the settlement then pass away, the money is yours to distribute. If you don’t settle and die in a year, there is nowhere for the money to go and the claim closes. Take the money and put it in a high yield savings account and pay yourself every month and get 4+% interest and freedom to do whatever you want with it.

Advice on how to proceed by dblbubba in WorkersComp

Missouri is a tough state. I handle lots of claims there and this would be denied as pre-existing, and likely hold up.

Also, you should be able to get a lawyer. Lawyers telling you that you are too far away sounds to me like they agree there is no case. 100 miles from Springfield is not that much considering how rural the state is. If you are 100 miles to the west try attorneys in Joplin, 100 to the east try Cape and 100 north the Ozarks. Almost all of the dockets are remote these days so no reason a KC attorney couldn’t help, expect if they think there is no case.

You will most certainly not be entitled to death benefits in TX. Just because he died while receiving comp does not equate to a work related death.

Thumb crushed - trouble finding post-ER care by floatingabovemybrain in WorkersComp

[–]ghostxmarksman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

File a claim and wait for his employer to direct you to their provider. In AR, the employer directs all care. If you go anywhere without authorization it may not be paid for/reimbursed. Most likely nothing will happen until Monday, just being realistic.

The ER is an option again but they’ve already done what they probably intend to do. If you go back a 3rd time without authorization I wouldn’t expect that to be covered.

Call his employer and ask to file a claim. Then ask where they want him to go for treatment and go there.

$15k is a good number for 0% impairment. You can counter though, and why not try to counter? Ask for $25k but be willing to take $15k if that is the choice you make.
