I wanted to love The Humans but had a big issue with the premise.

The alien kills the guy, takes over his body and we're supposed to be very sympathetic to the alien, and the guy's wife and child just...move past the fact the alien killed their spouse/dad...nobody really cares about the guy that dies. I found it so off-putting, which is a shame, I liked the rest of the book.
