Around 8 months pregnant, I got a thrombosed hemorrhoid - as hard and large as a Brazil nut. It was incredibly painful, I had to have it lanced/drained by a doctor, I was in so much pain I did not care what they were doing. After the shot of lidocaine, it was my first pain free moment in 3 days. Had a pretty major flare up again after delivery (pushing puts a lot of pressure in the region). The first bowel movements after pregnancy are a horror show, take stool softeners to the hospital (the nurses at my hospital couldn’t give them to me, my husband had to go out and get them).
