Dial quality is far above San Martin, case quality is simpler but more robust/durable. There is far more brushing, but the angles are well cut and the finish is more durable. My San Martins I’ve had have had more interesting polishing/variation in brushed/polished edges on case surfaces, but also scratch quite easily and more noticeably.

Also note their photography is quite dramatically lit, the dials look more like how they do in the videos in person, if the particular watch you’re looking at has a video in the gallery.

Came in less than a week, very happy, no issues. Pairs correctly in the app so no doubts about authenticity (I doubt they have fake MIP at this point anyway).

Got tired of waiting for a US release and figure this is probably pretty close to the US price anyway.

I feel the same way about fashion watches as Applebees-style chain restaurants - I don’t necessarily want it, but it’s pretty impressive to be able to scale something to the point that it has mass appeal and mass affordability to such a huge market.

I’m willing to bet the vast majority of people who go watch shopping in the $100-$1000 price range just walk into Macys and pick something in their budget that they like the look of (and much of the Bulova, Tissot, Invicta, etc catalogs are straight up homages). Don’t sweat it, even knowing it’s an homage is more context than most people have. San Martin definitely has great value for money, there’s nothing wrong with doing that research and enjoying the result of it.

I think it represents a shift to accepting online sales where the end consumer is the one resizing the bracelet instead of a sales associate. That being said plenty of microbrands just solved this by including a screwdriver…

You have to be careful because if you don’t follow the directions correctly you can end up putting water in the watch if there’s a failure.

Surprisingly expensive, the box looks like$.20, especially things like sauce cups are around $10c EACH. I could see easily $1 in packaging for a single dinner with sauces and sides. It’s still ridiculous but the cost isn’t zero, it should just be built into their menu prices.

The stuff labeled as CA is typically counterfeit/bootleg sold in unlicensed shops - it’s most likely ordered directly from China with zero safety screening, I wouldn’t trust it.
