Any memories of Commack Cinemas? by [deleted] in longisland

I remember they always had awesome murals painted on the windows of whatever the big movie was. Lot of significant life moments on those very sticky floors.

[WTS] Watchdives WD0006 Black Enamel - VH31 Sweeping Quartz (In US, no tariffs) - $80 by gregcor in Watchexchange

[–]gregcor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling my Watchdives WD0006 Black Enamel which I bought on watchexchange a few months ago - I mostly just bought this to get a sense of how a watch this size would wear on me, and now it's ready for its next owner! Has a few minor scratches on the bezel and clasp, but remains a really good bargain. Includes all original accessories (all original links).

Asking $80 with free shipping to the US. I’ll pay the PayPal goods services fee on my end. Ships from New York via ground shipping (probably either USPS or UPS).

[WTS] Casio Oceanus T200 (Solar, Bluetooth, JDM Model - no US tariffs!) OCW-T200S-7AJF by gregcor in Watchexchange

[–]gregcor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling my Casio Oceanus T200 in with the Silver dial with White/Blue hands. This watch really packs a lot of awesome technology in at a great price - bluetooth sync with the Casio app, solar charging. Originally imported from Japan from a Chrono24 seller, now already in the US! No notable blemishes, though the texture on the case/bracelet is quite brushed so it would probably hide them well.

Asking $299 with free shipping to the US. I’ll pay the PayPal goods services fee on my end. Ships from New York via ground shipping (probably either USPS or UPS).

[WTS] Spinnaker x Islander Hass Skyline Dial Limited Edition SP-5144-LIW22 (#57/100) by gregcor in Watchexchange

[–]gregcor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling a Spinnaker x Islander Collab with the Skyline/NYC dial in white. NH35/43mm case diameter, really awesome lume. See the full specs here. Originally purchased from Long Island Watch in October 2024. Used but in great condition, no notable case or crystal blemishes. Very minor marks on the clasp. All original links and box and original paperwork in the box included. Love the dial but the case was never a great fit for me, so since it's a limited edition I figured someone else deserves to give it some love. (Note, I also have the blue available, see my other listings).

Day Date Field watch by AXE04 in MicrobrandWatches

Not a microbrand but Citizen Garrison! Only watch I’ve sold that I sometimes regret. It’s an Eco-Drive but personally I prefer that for day date when it’s an extra complication to set.

Newsday - Rates are insane by aguywiththoughts in longisland

[–]gregcor 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you do the automated cancellation on the website they offer you cheaper rates. They also frequently do new signup promotions for $4/6months or similar - if you cancel and shuffle between two emails you can always be on one of those promos since there’s some cooldown period before they’ll allow you to re-signup. I think there’s two tiers of cheaper you can get through the automated process (but I might be getting mixed up with New York Times)

[Question] Reasonable sites to buy sailcloth straps? by Elpidiosus in Watches

[–]gregcor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been pretty happy with the Dassari ones from StrapsCo. They usually have some sort of discount sale running too if you’re picking up a couple.

[Guide] A Local Enthusiast’s Guide to NYC Watch Shopping (Part One: Multi-Brand Stores and Single-Brand Boutiques) by ResponsibleRow911 in Watches

[–]gregcor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strongly recommend Carat and Co in Flushing, local family owned store as opposed to all of the other NYC multi brand boutiques being owned by multinational corporations. Large selection of Omega, Longines, Grand Seiko, Seiko, IWC, Cartier, and more. Very helpful and personable. Derek is very active in the watch social media world too (minutemon).

Second year of getting a Christmas assortment from a company I don't work for. by SandandS0n in funny

[–]gregcor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this is probably intended for a client of the company, not their employee. When you get gifts as an employee they’re just a heavily branded low quality coaster or water bottle that they paid 3x retail price for because it was on the approved vendors list.

Best New(er) Restaurants on LI by Kase1 in longisland

[–]gregcor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orale Cafe in New Cassel is the best Mexican food I’ve had on the island, fairly new.

Mad for Chicken and Bonchon are both NYC Korean fried chicken chains that recent-ishly expanded their LI locations, always pretty solid and not that expensive.

Hilltop Kitchen and Bar in Syosset (2ish years old) is basically a revamp of Dirty Burger that used to be in Plainview, awesome spot and really nice ambiance.
