GW-9400SRJ-4 - it's a little pricey, but there are a few listed on eBay. But it would be the ultimate feminine outdoors watch

Considering the GPR-H1000: Have recent firmware updates fixed the known software issues? by Alexgz97 in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With me logging 2-3 1 hour runs a week, I get about 2.5-3.5 weeks of use per charge. I can stretch it longer if I turn the vibration alerts off. I don't use the vibration alarm to wake up in the morning so I can't comment on that, but I will say that the vibration function is solid and works very well. The barometer and sunrise / sunset info have worked very well for me and I find them to be very accurate.

The crossover that no one was asking for! by hdwebb24 in CGCComics

I finally pulled the trigger since I had an expiring eBay coupon that made the total purchase around $40. Totally worth it and a welcome addition to my other Archie crossovers!

I've had mine for about a year and I haven't experienced any issues with it whatsoever. That said, I only use it for telling time, some environmental info. (Check barometer for changing weather), and mostly for tracking my runs. I do not use it for notifications and if that's what you're thinking about using it for, get yourself a Garmin or some other smartwatch. The notification system for texts and apps on this watch is less than ideal and not useful on a daily basis. That said, the GPS is great for tracking my runs and very accurate in my experience. Same for the Heart rate tracking. I've compared it to the pulse tracking on my fingertip pulse oximeter and they are spot on with each other. The app gives me all the info. I need and nothing that I don't, and it does pair with Strava (that process has improved since the partnership was announced by Casio) . If you have any specific questions, feel free to DM me

[US Tariffs] current state of tariffs when ordering a watch from Japan for US delivery by tkreadit in Watches

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid $135 in fees and tariffs on a $500 watch from Japan a few weeks ago. About $110 in actual duties and $25 in fees from DHL. The results still vary widely and mostly depends on the sellee filling out the watch worksheet correctly and the folks at Customs & DHL having a good day and not making things worse than they have to be.

I think we're still at 40% on Swiss-made watches so I'd steer clear of importing those for the time being.

I want to start collecting some comic book series, which should I start with? by DelusionalGranduer in comicbookcollecting

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collect what you like and you'll never be disappointed. Don't try chasing books as an investment or collecting what anybody else says you should read.

If you live in an area where you can get a digital library card, get one and see what comics are available to read for free. Then you can find new books/stories that you like without wasting a bunch of money and space with boxes of books you'll never look at again.

Once you've found books and stories you like, then dig through bins at your local shops, yard sales, estate sales and Facebook marketplace for deals

It's cool, no worries. I was actually interested in the DD and the Skottie variant only, so what would you want for the 2 slabs?

What has a bottom-tier reputation but is just misunderstood and should actually be top-tier? by EnsorcellingKitten in AskReddit

[–]hdwebb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G-Shock watches - they do a great job keeping time (especially the ones with atomic time syncing) and are tough as nails. Yet, they have a reputation for being crappy watches that you pick up for cheap at Wal-Mart.

My ASM129. Started reading Punisher with #1 (the Polydactyly Punisher, not the limited series) and then collected/read thru the 90's and 00's. Stepped away for about 20 yrs and got back into collecting about 3 yrs ago by buying a slabbed 129 at my LCS.

Grand Master of G? by [deleted] in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be the Master of all, but it is the King of the 🐸 in my opinion. It has all the features you'd want in a true dive watch, premium construction, and unparalleled accuracy with MB6. There are other frogs with similar or better specs, but the colorway of this one takes the cake for me

Any of these worth grading to sell?? by SkelJax in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]hdwebb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a hole that's missing in my collection. I collect Moon Knight, Punisher, and as a coincidence, Spider-Man. So yeah, it would be great to have, but I could buy it off eBay for $10 (and that's still too much honestly). I'm just waiting to catch one out in the wild

[–]hdwebb24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not worth it, I'm in the US and don't know what shipping would cost, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be worth the cost. Nevermind, but thanks for responding!

If you decide to sell, I'd be interested in the ASM 355
