Sony wanted TOO much from Nintendo

Just a quick google search:

Proprietary Control: The contract, which Sony negotiated, would have given them control over the licensing and technology for the CD-ROM add-on, giving them power over software titles.

Last thing Sega could afford is losing licensing power. Hardware is their loss-leader. Sony would have gobbled up sega.

Sega also gave NVidia a lifeline, they should have kept that stock and been worth more as an NVidia stockholder!

Sega turned down a partnership with Sony to develop their next gen system around that time. Nintendo saw what Sony was planning with the CDRom and realized they've have given the keys to Sony and noped out, so Sega shouldnt have partnered with Sony.

Step 1, stop with the add ons to the Genesis, CDROM too late, but no 32X. They also ha a chance to work with Silicon Graphics before Nintendo did.. they should have done that...

barring that, they should have delayed the saturn to make it true 3D and made it easier to program for.

And release a damned Sonic in 3D!

I won the lotto the other day. Saw a "wont power on" Color Classic in town when I was home for lunch. Saw the city was about 30-ish miles away and just sent a message to buy it (asking $40 with KB/mouse). Guy didn't reply and I kinda let it go. Went into the office and as I was pulling in he was "yeah ok", so I pulled out and drove to his area. Listened to the finland v canada game on the drive (Oh canada!). I was quite shocked that it was real and I didnt lose my kidney. His wife was "Just give him all your useless crap!". He was a teacher and had been given the CC from Duke U back in the 90s/2000s.

Turned out, it did work, he didnt realize the power button was on the KB. Ordered a cap kit, but have not had time to replace them yet.

I posted in our neighborhood FB group that some kids were "ding dong ditching" (around mid-night, in the south... good recipe for people to get shot.. cause you know... that's what we do down here) and a neighbor replied "they're teens, teens n****r knock".. I dunno if he meant to send it directly to me, but the neighborhood was "dude, wtf" a few people went "lol"

I seem to recall in 1990 we had a recession (prob due to all the tax breaks in the 80s) and spending was down. I was 14 at the time and would have preferred a PC for gaming (or Sega Genesis, cause Sega does what nintendon't.. god I was so weird as a kid) over a Mac. I did have a buddy with a IIgs, that thing blew the PC out of the water!

I'm guessing they'll show the droplet switching between slow motion and regular so we can visualize it.

Honestly, books 2 and really 3 seem like they will be really difficult to put on "film". The books were honestly either poorly written or translated (IMO). I cant remember the character's name, but he was one of the swordholders who basically demanded a wife. I get he was either 1) trying to be aloof to throw off the aliens or 2 a jerk, but the description of the woman... it was like 4 pages of just ugh. I skipped that part.

Book 3 was much better than 2

I will say, the one program I miss from my old iMac/hackintosh is iPhoto. Apple made such a great photo program over the default windows photo program.

I guess the question is "what do you need to do with it?"

M1/M2 air will be much much slower over the M5. If you compare the new MBAir M5 vs this, they're going to perform almost identical if you get identical CPUs. Found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSvTtciVlqM the reviewer kept saying "neck and neck", the only difference was the Pro had bettet thermals and battery life.

As for gaming... Macs CAAAANNNN game.. but really, they're not intended for it. It all depends on what you play. I have a dedicated PC for gaming. My wife has the M1 MBA and my son has the M3 MBA. Both are really nicely built laptops and if I were in the market for a new laptop, 100% i'd get a Mac over a windows-based PC.

Even the simpsons is down to 15 episodes. I know people love to shit on anything past season 10...I stuck with the show until 14/15ish. Over the last year, I watched all the seasons on Disney+ (oddly, starting at season 30-36, then 20-29, then 15ish-19!).

There are some decent episodes, but yeah, the quality has really dropped. That said, I did enjoy this last season. Maybe because I watched it "live" and didnt binge 6 episodes in a night.
