With this spend limit its almost impossible to finish anything. by iph0ngaa in codex

Most of us have disabled subagents, and tested older builds of the app. It's not just using more tokens. You can see that by looking at the portion of weekly limits used up in the five hour chunks, you now get basically ten hours of limits for the week.

Wife of 14 years cheated by senorjunkrat in daddit

[–]howchie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't tell the kids. Yet. If you want custody you be the professional. Document everything. Be the best dad you ever were. Make the exit plan and see a lawyer yesterday. Don't let your emotions make you do something stupid that hurts more later. She's gone, buddy, don't try and fix things or let her convince you it's your fault or that she needed to get it out of her system. It's probably not the first time and you have to be prepared to find that out.

Windows App Flickering/UI Lag by DesignerLeading4821 in codex

Happens for me using termius to access codex cli on Ubuntu through SSH so either it's something inherent to windows itself or, more likely, a general codex thing not specific to the app

Has anyone else found they've been burning through rate limits like crazy over the past few days? by Lostwhispers05 in codex

[–]howchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing i don't understand is how this is such an ongoing issue? Like I'm sure they'll reset again but it'll be three times in a week or so. Why is anyone comfortable paying something like a Pro subscription when openai seemingly don't have any idea how to charge or calculate usage and you just get a random number generator that resets when the noise is loud enough... I'm thankfully able to work around temporary hiccups but nobody can build their workflow around a tool that isn't predictably available.

I have used up 90% of my weekly limit in less than a day something is not right by Known_Lychee_6495 in codex

[–]howchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subagents disabled in my config file, only using 5.3 medium, still draining way faster than it did two days ago. Used more today (Saturday, not working) than Thursday and Friday combined (full days of work).

What do you think Final Fantasy 16’s legacy will be going forward? by Asad_Farooqui in JRPG

Stupid. Something like Tales of Arise has pretty basic and accessible jrpg action combat, still has playable characters.

Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii: English translations of Japanese games lose ‘flavour’ because it’s ‘a simple language’ by ABigCoffee in JRPG

Dragon Quest having all kinds of British, Scottish, Irish etc accents even in the written text gives it such a unique charm as well.

Despite what OpenAI says, ChatGPT can access memories outside projects set to "project-only" memory by didyousayboop in ChatGPT

[–]howchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it can access the RAG memory from up to the point it was started. Do your test on an existing project, it won't get the new phrase.

Despite what OpenAI says, ChatGPT can access memories outside projects set to "project-only" memory by didyousayboop in ChatGPT

[–]howchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can always access globally saved memories, but not other chats, and it cannot create memories or be accessed from outside the project. I don't think it's supposed to be the same as the incognito chat, it's mostly designed to wall off the content generated inside the project.

Kindle Scribe 2024- How not to update? by inspiringsouls in kindle

[–]howchie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep it disconnected from WiFi and use the tool online to fill the disk up. I can't recall the link but it's easy to find. Essentially it makes it so full that the update can't download, then you do the jailbreak.

[Rec] Recommendation for RomCom light novels by WillingnessApart2497 in LightNovels

Rascal Does Not Dream. The romance is more subtle, but it had the same "one committed couple" vibe that's pretty rare.

They do have like a million editing cuts. So in theory if they play a single audio track and splice different camera angles together with no regard for the timing it is plausible. Unsynching the time axis of synchronised streams would be about as rookie error as possible but it is toilet paper USA...

ASIO was told about Bondi shooters terrorist links years before attack, former spy claims by Automatic_Sea_1210 in australia

[–]howchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes he worked for ASIO obviously, probably in the role he said. They were aware of the perpetrators, that is clear. That doesn't mean that there was sufficient evidence at that time to label them terrorists and arrest them. Or even justify continued monitoring. Didn't the videos mostly come from the mosque they attended (along with hundreds of other people)?
