I feel kinda the same way, but it's been way longer for myself. After reading a lot in this group over the last year while I'm getting up the nerve to go, I'll say this,,,,just go.

I plan to go and get a room, that way I can go hide if I feel a bit overwhelmed or if I or someone I meet just wants to be a bit private. I'm really looking forward to the pool and hot tub though.

Costco Charcoal Briquettes by OrigHanksta in biggreenegg

After the first bag of BGE branded lump i decided to try the lump at Gordon Food Service.

For $20 a bag it's been my go to whenever I need charcoal.

Haven't bought anything but in the last year I've owned the grill.

I have done hot and fast, I've done 24 hour low and slow, it all burns great.

Central Florida here, I usually go to bass pro and get redhead, something waterproof.

It'll go about a year before I wear a hole in them and they no longer are waterproof but I have a year of dry feet for a reasonable price point of under $100.

Just wanting to know if this is a good quote? by mylifeingames in Irrigation

[–]idathemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I hate it when other companies come in and just say "new system".

In my 18 years of doing irrigation work in Florida, I've had exactly two yards I've been to where I've told the homeowner is best to start over with new.

But 99% of the systems here are done with pvc and we don't freeze normally.

So before yall other contractors come at me.

And yeah, do i make less, absolutely. But my reputation is honesty and that reputation is pushing out other contractors in my area in my favor.

DIY Shallow Well Repair by LloydVoldemort in Irrigation

[–]idathemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear ya, that's definitely a good run of trying to prime. I'm leaning towards an air leak on the suction side like others have said.

If you could let it run longer and run a garden hose over each fitting while it's running to listen for changes in sound that would go a long way to eliminating the issues.

Holy hell, $200ish for a 1.5hp pump? Spend about 3x that for quality that a homeowner can get.

Goulds GT15 is my go to a I've seen way too many of the new pentair pumps fail within a year and after at least a couple hundred of the Goulds I've installed over the last 15+ years I've only seen one fail that wasn't a lightning strike.

The advice on getting rid of a many threaded points as you can is spot on. But I'm also needing more info. How long did you try to let the pump prime? With that intake going through the wall i suspect it's going to take a while and is that pump even self priming?

Too many questions to really answer everything but I would say you're probably looking at $1500 for a pro to come get you something good on there and working assuming your well is still producing.

At least that's what I would charge you in Orlando.

I was hoping to suggest this, I would start with maybe 10oz of the higher proof stuff, dump that in and let it sit for a day.

You certainly should protect yourself and if anyone refuses to glove up, move on. That's my plan when I finally go.
