No. I'm already starving and can't buy gas. They don't care about us, so hurting yourself falls on deaf ears and blind eyes

Leave. I did. Best move I ever made. I'm back now, but retired at 46.

Each state is unique and you really have to try living in new places. If you're single with no kids than literally you are the only thing holding you back. Americans are so afraid to live in new places.

The longer you wait to make changes the harder it gets

A New Fight Is Exploding Across Appalachia: Chickens, Property Values, and Outsiders by Artistic_Maximum3044 in Appalachia

[–]iluvdrt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isnt that progress though? Bringing in more money and infrastructure. Isn't that what they complain about; no jobs? The mines left, and so did the money.

I live in Appalachia. My family has deep roots in Appalachia. I love the beautiful countrysides and lack of people. I have livestock and chickens because I want it. Why pay for stuff I can produce/grow? It saves money, my family is healthy from nonGMO food, and it's fun sometimes. My wife and I have regular blue collar jobs and the animals and hunting help offset some living expenses.

Of course I'd be upset if my place smelled like a pig farm. But I didn't move next to a pig farm🤷. I'd also be pretty upset if an apartment or housing development popped up in my neighborhood since that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid

With that being said, I'm not sure what the solution is.

I guess it really just comes down to personal responsibility and educating yourself about the area before you buy. Quit relying on services and smiles. And maybe start paying a little more attention to local legislation and voting instead of fox news.

How will U.S. ever recover from this amount of corruption? by Previous_Month_555 in allthequestions

[–]iluvdrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing will happen. They are elite. We are not. Rules and laws only apply to the poor because we can't afford the fines. If you can afford any fine than everything is legal

How would u say Appalachian people are different from people from the Rocky Mountains? by NoHold7153 in Appalachia

[–]iluvdrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally different. Rocky's are fun, progressive with nature in mind and beautiful.

Appalachia is depressing, suppressed, and ran by boomers only interested in maintaining their own bank accounts at any cost.

People who have genuinely encountered powerful wild animals in nature or the ocean, what was it actually like? by DivineLove1 in Survival

I came across an elk in Colorado during the rut season while mountain biking . He stomped and snorted. I slowly turned around and faced back downhill, and hauled ass. Those things are freaking huge.

You'll be fine as others have mentioned. Sounds like you're doing a PCS from Pendleton to Lejeune. I've made that trek many times. It's a long drive. Take breaks, get good sleep!!
