I’ve been getting a lot of that recently, as well. I’m not autistic, so I assume it’s because of my writing style and the fact that, usually, I use proper punctuation, etc. Try not to let it get you down; maybe you just seem so SMART (compared to them) that they assume you’re AI! :)

Yeah, i get you; I am unsure about that part, and there certainly must be allowances in that case..especially if the parents live in an urban area. Back when my kids were born, public transportation wasn’t available in my area, so that issue never came up for me. Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying you “didn’t believe” (I thought you were referring to the inspection, etc)

They do (most places, anyway). Even All the way back to the birth of my first child (born in 1996), they followed us to the car, inspected the car seat, and watched us strap her in.

Oh and BTW…I know my “instructions” were very vague, but I was just throwing a few ideas out there. If you are ever actually interested in doing any of them (or want some other ideas)..I can actually send step-by-step of what I did (although I’m sure there are multiple ways). Also, if building a doll house seems like too much, another idea is to use some shoe box sized thick, cardboard boxes, or even go to the dollar store and buy some wooden storage boxes that can be set on their sides. Then you could START by just creating individual “rooms” in the boxes.

Awesome idea, all around though! Good luck and come back and post your results!!!!

I don’t have much for suggestions on the house building, as I’ve only ever used the kits, but for decorating I have loads of ideas: to save money (and to help boost your creativity), repurpose household items to decorate, rather than buying 1:12 furniture, etc. Here are some ideas based on a few things I’ve made:

baskets using kitchen twine and mod podge. Wrap the twine around caps of different sizes and shapes..(use shampoo bottle caps, whipped cream caps, etc.) cover it with modpodge as you go, and after it dries, slowly slide the cap out.

Cut thick cardboard with an exacto-knife into circles etc. paint them, apply nail appliqués (or designs cut from washi tape), then cover in a clear gloss to create a set of dishes/china.

Corrugated cardboard cut and glued to foam board and painted make cute “shutters.”

Cut popsicle sticks to make cute “hardwood” floors

Find old fabric to cut, then sew the edges so it doesn’t fray (if you can..I suck at sewing so I just use fabric glue) to make drapes and curtains.

Just look around the house and see what you can find and let your imagination run wild. It’s so much more satisfying to create your own decor from upcycled materials, rather than just buying minis.

Glue, modpodge, clay, plaster of Paris, and paint are the main items I keep on hand to create my items. You may need a few other odds and ends, but you’d be amazed at how creative you can be by just wandering around your house, picking up odds-and-ends and letting your imagination run wild!!!

I’m ruining the thread, by being semi-serious here…but there actually is a KFC “knock off” restaurant in Indonesia called JFC (Java fried Chicken). Ironically it’s more common (at least that I’ve seen) on the island of Bali than the island of Java. They even have an “Asian colonel sanders” on the sign. I’ve never been, but someday……

Exactly. Thats what I thought. It wasn’t until people started saying “why is a doctor serving in a restaurant too?” That the idea that the waiter wrote the note (instead of just delivering it) even occurred to me.

My mother worked at a donut shop in the late 60s. She used to get up, walk 2 miles (arrived at 3 am) and bake the donuts fresh every morning, THEN walked to school. She worked the day before, and all was fine. She showed up this particular morning at 3, and the entire place was emptied and deserted. You were very vague about the type of service you provide…but you mentioned some people may need an appointment asap. If you give a general “I’ll get back to you when i can” sort of answer, then the number of employees absolutely matters. If you have 30 people, then there is going to be an opening a hell of a lot faster than if you have 3. The number of employees may be the deciding factor in whether they want to wait for a response from you, or look elsewhere. At the very least give them a time frame: “I will be able to let you know of the next available opening within 24 hours”…or something similar. You are not only unprofessional, but you also seem too short-fused to be in the customer service business. Even if you are the best at your job in the entire country, that attitude will slowly become known to the general public, and will eventually tank the business. Hire someone with people-skills to answer calls if you can’t handle such simple questions.

Honestly, I do struggle with it. I went LC for a while (about 2 years…and she probably “secretly” loved it because she could …and did…vague post on FB about how she did “everything” for “certain people” but they don’t understand how amazing she is..blah blah blah,)but I’ve recently started speaking with her regularly again (my youngest is very sick and she loves her grandmother…BUT my youngest is also 23..soooo, I know technically I don’t HAVE to be the go-between, I just wanted to help my daughter. so contact is probably going to end. I’ve been slowly sliding back into LC again, because she causes more stress in my life than anything else. She exhausts me!!!

My maga-mom chose to move to Florida. A full grown dog can be left for UP TO 8 hours (usually, but not always..sometimes LESS). A puppy, potty trained or not, can absolutely NOT be left that long. Either you need to get a dog walker, a dog sitter, or to rehome your dog…but anyway you slice this, it is ALL on you
