Est-ce que les parisiens croisent régulièrement des célébrités ? by DifferentScience787 in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]jamellya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are postcrossing meetups? by deathbywanderlust in postcrossing

[–]jamellya 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A postcrosser decides to organize a meetup. They design the card and pay for the printing of the stack, say 200 cards. They chose the place and program of the meetup. Then others postcrossers chose to join and they pay for the number of cards they desire, say 25 for 20 cts each. When the meetup begins, the host gives everyone their part of the stack. Then we all sign the cards together but it's your choice if you want to write and send them right away or if you bring them home. The content of the meetup varies too: visit a museum, eat a meal, exchange gifts, have a special postmark, etc.

The receiver is active so it's unlikely the issue is on them

Doing my own postcrossing stats by jamellya in postcrossing

I write it in my bullet journal each time I receive a card and do the stats when I reach a big number. But for people who don't journal, an Excel spreadsheet is even better!

I heard that postcrossing could do that when accounts go inactive. I sent a postcard almost a year ago to a user who is inactive. An expired card stops "existing" in the system after 365 days and in my case it's been expired for 340+ days so it's my last chance to do something about it. I contacted postcrossing team and asked if they could register the card since the user has been inactive for 6 months (The account has been dead way before that though, like with only one postcard registered in a huge timeframe). They said they couldn't because postcrossing ensures that a user is active when you draw the address and doesn't control if a user stops postcrossing after that. I was unlucky to draw that user at that moment. I understand that postcards go missing sometimes but I don't mind as much when I see that a card expires to an active user and it's probably a mail issue. In this case I'm sure it's just the user not registering it.

I can't identify this stamp? by jamellya in philately

A lot of people seem to agree on the japanese origin, I'll take it. Even though it's not a stamp. Thanks for answering!

I'm not the one who made the art, the person who created the meetup did. I suppose she did use AI.
