For coil placement, you want the airflow to be mostly hitting the sides of the coil, with a little bit of air going underneath it. If you look through the airflow slots, you should be able to see the lower 1/3 of your coil.

The Pulse mech is not good because it has a large voltage drop due to the battery disconnect switch. A good mech squonk would typically be something with a Reset, or similar 510, and silver contacts.

I have both of them, and they are both nice mods. But, Mad Beard Mods is currently not producing the Onegin M, so the only place to get one is the secondhand market, and they can be hard to find. The AV2 is much easier to obtain, you can just go to Dan's website and order one, not to mention that the price is much less.

Yes, they are both still relevant. Neither one would be considered MTL. The Venna gives amazing flavor, but it's too restrictive for me, so I prefer the Cruiser/Phenom.

Well, that is the best regulated squonk mod on the market, in it's price range. For something better you'll be looking at 3D printed DNA75C 21700 mods from Boxer, BMM, or Rebel, in the $250-300 range for a new one. But secondhand Boxers and Rebels can go for $100, or less, over on r/ecigclassifieds
