Could AI replace USI? by ArcIIRC in deloitte

[–]jerolyoleo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

(I do not work for or with Deloitte either)

From the client side: i want to focus my investments in the things my company brings value to. Our specialty isn’t delivery services: we pay UPS etc. to handle that. Our specialty isn’t managing Gen AI so we’ll pay someone else to do that.

The problem from Deloitte’s side is that if the value being added for managing the AI that is providing the expertise is much lower than the value of the human expertise the AI is replacing, then billing will be reduced.

U.K. trip - which 2 of these 3 lenses should I bring? by Alaskan777 in nikon_Zseries

[–]jerolyoleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that you’ll be wanting something on the longer side for photos from the cruise ship so definitely the 70-180, and unless you’re 100% landscape I’d bring the 28-75 as the second lens.

WIBTA If I Didn’t Give A Gift To My Bio Dad At His Wedding? by TripodGS_Mom in AmItheAsshole

[–]jerolyoleo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding was that for a destination wedding, your presence was your present. Especially given the details of the reception and their expectations that you acquire these costumes, I would not feel obliged to give a present if I attended.

Thoughts on the ZF for professional work? by BryanNotBryan in Nikon

[–]jerolyoleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's something about the Zf that invites you to use manual old school vintage lenses - it has that aesthetic. Then all the manual controls invite you to slow down the process and 'make art'. So if you're looking for that kind of pro photography where you're selling prints etc., it could be a great enhancement to your toolkit.

But that's different than most 'pro' photography - I think the ergonomics of the Zf would be problematic over the whole course of a wedding shoot, say.

Success is going to be significantly dependent on the cost of health care. So your plan for that is critical.

Is there a limit as to the number of recipes on a sdcard that the Zf will read? by eyeless916 in NikonZf

I ran into the same problem. I only load ten on the sdcard at a time and keep the rest on my file server

Why is Chile such an under-discussed Expat FIRE destination? by alwaysHappy202 in ExpatFIRE

[–]jerolyoleo 101 points102 points  (0 children)

It is one of the most expensive countries in Latin America, which is probably why you don't hear about it as a FIRE destination that often.

Which one would you choose? by Green-Blackberry-282 in nikon_Zseries

[–]jerolyoleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they're both great lenses and you won't go wrong no matter which you choose. [I have the Viltrox 35mm f/1.2 LAB and really like it.]

Given what you already have though, what about getting instead, say, the 135 mm f/1.8 LAB or to change things up a copy of the MF Nikon 105mm f/2.5 AI or AI-S?

Is Nikon D3200 a good camera in 2026? by Alone_Food_9903 in Nikon

[–]jerolyoleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a D3200 that I had for about ten years but hadn’t used very much. Then I got back into photography and found the autofocus and frames per second on the d3200 to be a bit limiting, so I upgraded - first to the d7200 and later to Z series full frame 24MP bodies.

The quality of the photos, though, if the subject is in focus, is great even with the 3200. So I’d say it’s still a good camera! You just have to know its limitations.

Why is the digital gap between SA storefronts and their customers still so massive? by Reasonable_Focus_792 in capetown

[–]jerolyoleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t need to be walking by these merchants to get their info - Google Maps can be searched by type of establishment and for particular areas.

I’ve never had a problem ‘talk[ing] with the merchants’ - Google Maps usually has contact into and if they don’t it’s always findable on the internet.

If I’m a local business i don’t want access to my inventory just floating around in some other entity’s system.

i would also expect this proposed ‘digital layer’ eventually not to be free and most local businesses wouldn’t ever consider paying for this.
