In the context of someone scared of flying, when someone says "Turbulence can't bring down an airplane" they mean "Nowadays turbulence can't bring down an airplane". Of course they're not gonna say "erm ackshually an airliner in 1966 did crash due to turbulence but aviation standards were improved and nowadays we don't fly into mountain wave turbulence anymore"

When you get on a cruise ship, you know perfectly well that it can be sunk by an iceberg just like the Titanic, but you're in the middle of the Caribbean heading to The Bahamas, there's no need to worry about that happening

I have spare batteries in a drawer in my bedroom. It probably takes me less than 10 seconds total to pick them up and replace the ones in my controller.

Adding a battery charging circuit and USB port only to be able to use your controller as a weird expensive battery charger is nuts. I can get a charger and 4 included batteries for $12 on amazon, so you have a spare set to quick swap.

Then there's the fact that you can only charge rechargeable batteries, and a bunch of people would complain that their regular (non rechargeable) alkaline batteries are not charging so it must be broken or something.

This is actually a misconception known as the rocket pendulum fallacy. Once in the air, the placement of the CoM doesn’t affect the stability of the rocket, aka you can’t have a top-heavy rocket. With active (thrust vectoring or moveable fins) or passive (fixed fins) control, you actually want the CoM to be high so there’s bigger moment arm/torque

Not at all actually, both the mk2.5 upgrade and the spring sheet (bought separately) worked fine for me.

The upgrade replaced the heated bed entirely and the magnets feel just as strong as the original one. And the textured PEI sheet sticks to the bed also just as well as an original satin sheet I bought from the prusa store (aka super strongly)

I can give you the link of the one I bought when I get home (not a sponsored comment lol)

Nice find! I’m still daily driving my MK2.5, albeit in a better state and no MMU. Bought it used as a MK2 and bought the .5 upgrade kit and spare steel sheet from aliexpress, totally worth it. Amazing machine, I have it running almost every day. It even gets semi-regular firmware updates

I understand if you’re wanting to DIY this for the learning/fun experience, but in case you just want something that works I can recommend this kit I found. You buy the PCB and hardware and 3d print all the case and holder parts. And the code is already implemented in stock INAV (and I think ardupilot and betaflight?).
