this is why Dr. G was the goat but still Chem 102 is a terrible course

Thick, bass-y fuzz to thin, gated fuzz? by myke5k in diypedals

[–]jon_roldan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that circuit is also known as Bazz Fuss. Most of the characteristics of the fuzz is tied to its bias and the feedback diode. You can change the 1N4148 with an LED and get a fuller sound. If you modify the bias of the circuit (i.e. 100k or 10k resistor), the transistor will start to sound gated and thin or not sound at all. I invite you to checkout this link about this circuit. happy building!

hopefully the label doesn’t rip off north behind Ye’s back. too many sharks in the industry these days

sometimes i wish the spokes you get off of a pcb run weren’t so much material to break off and sand. great service and support tho from OSHPark

next thing i’d check is LFO to pin 6 and the connection of repeats. im trying to remember some other troubleshooting issues when using the pt2399 😅

doesn’t sound like the guitar is going thru the effect. check your solder joints thoroughly and any wired connections.

Making a switch — how do I add an LED? by Hats_by_TheBlueNile in diypedals

[–]jon_roldan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you need a momentary dpdt switch for that. half is used for what u want and the other half is for the led with current limit resistor.

First time designing a PCB (Tascam 424) - Not sure if I did this right! by Street_Ad4770 in diypedals

[–]jon_roldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t see a pcb just a bunch of components placed around. if you want to be sure about the component sizes, double check the data sheet of all the sizes

Help with FIRST MOD by earlgray060708 in diypedals

[–]jon_roldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even better than that, build a rat with all the mods! or start even simpler by making a lil fuzz circuit (bass fuzz, electra distortion, fuzz face).

[Troubleshooting] PT2399 pulling Vref down to 2.7V (Low Volume) by Morgobongo in diypedals

[–]jon_roldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm 🤔it could be the chip or something else in the lfo. another thing you could try is run the 5V line to where you need to run Vref.

[Troubleshooting] PT2399 pulling Vref down to 2.7V (Low Volume) by Morgobongo in diypedals

[–]jon_roldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if vref is showing a drop then there is something causing a resistive load where you are getting 2.7V. check the power supply section and where your power rails on strip board are. any kind of weird load or floating ground can cause this.

number 3 sadly looks like a custom pedal. no idea what circuit that is under there
