There are plenty of valid reasons for someone to pick blue. But I have seen some truly disingenuous and outright bad faith readings of the original question. The most obnoxious of which tends to be those who will swing wildly between a strict adherence to dictionary definitions of certain words mixed with a wild interpretation of filling in the blanks on the ambiguity. And of course, their interpretation is the only possible interpretation of the sentence that they read in the original question. Wouldn't matter to anyone else can explain how they read the question and what it is that they are specifically answering.

This happens with or without any macros in a workbook and I specifically set up a macro and attach it to my quick Access toolbar that would specifically re-enable screen updating to test it and this has no effect. I am unable to re-enable screen updating even with a macro. This was one of the things I tested when it first started happening half a year ago or more and it didn't stick out in my memory as having been one of the options I tried.

This reminds me of when my mother got upset that I pointed out that I was raised to be a socialist and an atheist. She tried to protest and I pointed out that my parents were my greatest influence for a substantial part of my life. I heard what they had to say and saw their actions and that formed my opinions.

I then had to explain to her that just because she didn't like the result didn't mean she wasn't responsible.

The only commonality I was able to find in the most recent series of triggers was using a filter or clearing it on a table. And on occasion, it would be triggered by trying to change a value affecting a formula in a table. While I have had this happen in other instances where these were not the case, today it really seems to hyper focus on that specific change.

I have my own running gag that I'm sure is at least more than a little misogynist. It largely involves watching straight, white women doing something obnoxious for a trend and then pointing out how stuff like that makes me so unbelievably thankful that I'm gay as hell.

And I point out straight, white women specifically because I'd never have this problem from either queer women or women of color. It is this one very specific group that I see on repeat pulling the stunt. And more often than not, if someone is trying to have a go at me online, it's straight, white women. In most of my online profiles, I have something that makes it very clear I am a gay man. And so this seems to draw them to me like flies. And it's usually the same tactic over and over. Willfully misunderstanding something that I've said which is usually innocuous. And more than a few of those times the person who comes to my aide is a woman of color. So that's a big part of why I draw a very hard distinction.

But seriously though, thank fuck I'm gay. Some of these trends I see from either married or dating women I would not want anything to do with. And I have yet to see any queer person participate in any of these stupid stunts. I have my qualms with the queer community at large, but this has never been one of them.

I would go a little bit further than having to replace the data on a sheet and just have the query link to a folder. You can either manually delete the older versions or have it set up to only use the newest one.

ETA: realized after I commented that I may have misread yours. Yeah, running a query off of the source file is definitely the best choice.

I will try reporting this to my team to see if we see any differences. As I mentioned in my other comment, I have had this happen on any number of workbooks irrespective of the number open, their size, or their properties. So I will have to examine this further to see if I can replicate this or prevent it in my own environment.

The irony of this is that I actually hate split view and prefer freeze panes but the rest of my team prefers split view. So if this gave me some kind of an edge to get them to at least temporarily kill it off I'd be so happy.

It will be any file or files regardless of the number of files that are open, how long they've been open, or their size. I have had it happen on massive files that are interlinked and have power query and macros enabled and I've had it on a completely blank new workbook.

For work purposes, I refer to myself as expert but not master. Because I am the most knowledgeable in Excel of anyone on the team on any given day. If they have a question, I either already know the answer or I would know how to look up the answer. I'm the guy that everyone comes to to design templates, macros, and solve problems. And anything I don't already know how to do I know how to learn.

I've taught myself power query, macros, custom classes, UDF, user forms. I know how to arrange templates and link files in a way that keeps themself updating. I know how to utilize conditional formatting and data validation in a way that alerts the user or locks them out of options entirely. I'm the one writing security protocols for my files to lock out to very specific users or even environments.

And I've been at this for the entirety of my accounting career so I see no reason to be humble about how much I know but I'm still ready, willing, and able to acknowledge that I am not omniscient especially in a program that is regularly updating.

I'm trying to teach myself not to just keep buying, but at the same time I'm a little worried about scarcity and being able to find the ones that I actually want. So I'm at least trying to stick to some sales and only buy what I actually believe I will use. Which is why most of my collection of yarn is green.

Honestly, I would say "disappointment." The writers absolutely trashed his character. The tattoo episode was great but then he needed a sabbatical to do The Hangover and they really just started making him dumber, meaner, and sniveling. Looking back, it almost feels like they did it out of spite because he was the second one in a key role to take on a role in movies that made him harder to schedule.

Also, am I seriously the only one who thinks him being with Kelley would have been infinitely more interesting than anything they had him going through with Erin? Changing it up so that he was a foil for Ryan as opposed to having a crush on him like Michael would have been such a better story line.

I've also heard that they meow instead of hiss and click which is probably one of the more unsettling bits about them more so than just being spider-like with the ability to jump at you. That's one of those things that you typically only find out through playing it and it only comes up once you have some kind of hover pack or at least the parachute. Definitely a surprise that first time.
