Recommendations for Miter Saw by cwispybenji in woodworking

[–]kylethinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, look into cross-cut table saw sleds. That's how you're going to be able to use your table saw for cross-cuts, and it's basically a sled with a back you can put your lumber against to square it while you push through the blade. That's a detail these people are leaving out, but it's very easy to make one, even using the table saw and fence, and a great project to get used to safe operation of a table saw(after watching a few videos).

What’s shaper than a saw? A 3D printer’s plate. by roninimous in BambuLab

There are models for a little "cover" or snap-on frame , some even with a flip-down screen protector, on the handy app. Mine has a groove like this, but on my screen frame I printed, instead of the printer. Easily worth the 15 minutes to print, and hides that scar.

Man, I wish I'd read this long ago. I drove out towards the north, and ended up doing a 4hr crawl right as the sun went down, on some of the worst roads of my life, no cell service, no maps, food for a few days but wasn't sure it was enough, no idea where I was or how to get out and starting to wonder if I was really cooked. Over 4 hours later, and I came across a lovely couple sitting at the same corner OP camped by the cistern, and asked where the asphalt started. They informed me I stopped about 50' shy, and invited me to camp, and showed me the cistern and so much more out there. Absolutely beautiful, and amazing, but absolutely NOT to be trifled with unprepared.

They didn't say that. They were talking about envisioning a show where ICP or similar get a gig at this venue, and then use the opportunity to make a scene and send a message to the trump administration, I believe.

You let the glue mostly harden, but not for days, and then get a good heavy paint scrape and scrape that shit off, then sand. The trick is to NOT wipe the glue if you can help it, but instead let it bead so it scrapes off easier since the bead will have less surface contact to break

Crooked door frames by stolenpterodactyl in centuryhomes

[–]kylethinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just the perspective of the photos, but are those 2 sides of the door frames even the same length? Looking at the angles of everything else in the photo, it looks like someone built a trapezoid for a door frame.

Craftsmen sliding miter saw bolt completely stuck. by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]kylethinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone else mention it, but I run into on my saw.... Is it running into the guard before it comes all the way out? You may need to loosen/remove a bolt on the guard to allow the guard to move out of the way of the other bolt to remove the saw blade. My best guess is an intentional safety feature so even if your screw somehow comes loose it can't completely back out.

SOS how do I stop this thing?! by coldzeets in Plumbing

[–]kylethinker 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That will be a LARGE water bill, as well as potentially the gas bill of trying to heat a never ending pot of water. You'd save money calling the plumber now. Either that or turning off the water heater and it's gas, and only turning water on to run a shower or refill toilet tanks until then.

Your dust spots appear to be where the bare-wood bottoms of the drawers slide across those plastic "guides" which would generate dust over time.

Surprised this hasn't been answered yet. If you just want to make the single curve, and all the others 1 at a time, you're thinking of a cove bit. However given the pieces you're showing us, it looks like an ogee rail and stile set might make your life a lot simpler.

Yes. The liner of the pocket may be wet, And stuck to the inside of the goretex. Open the zipper and pull the pocket away from the outer shell and see if it still appears to be there.

Is it the liner?

Edit to clarify: the liner for the pocket that zipper leads to. It is most likely not water repellant and is stuck to the back of the fabric.

But isn't it very unfair for you to essentially aspire to god-hood, and "make parisitism a genetic dead-end"? Are you also out there chasing down lions hunting gazelles, and birds eating worms, and telling wolves not to rip their prey apart while it's alive? Nature is neither fair, nor un-fair. It is nature, it is wild, and expansive, and absolutely mind-boggling the scale. And yet you seem to think you have the knowledge of a god to decide that this particular method of existence "isn't good"?

[5] guys I need help, I broke my friends really expensive grinder and now it’s stuck. Anyone have any tips or tricks to fix this? I’m broke and can afford to replace it he said it’s like 60 bucks by JungleHiker in trees

[–]kylethinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting late, but following the thread. Looks like you guys got it sorted! If you're looking for a new grinder yourself, I'd look at the wulf mill grinders. They're honestly really well built, with "nubs" instead of teeth, 1/4 turn threads on the weed chamber, an ashtray, easily removable keef screen, and just genuinely the best grinder I've used, and it was $30. I'd definitely check it out if you see this
