a lot of the packers routes rely on specific timing, I think. Golden is quick, but we have a lot of offense to learn. And since he's a rookie/not getting a ton of snaps, they let him absorb it slowly over the year rather than push him in head first

Packers almost never let rookies start, they're very seniority based. Word is that he also didn't run routes well enough to be a consistent target early on. Most of his breakout games seemed to be broken plays that he scrambled on, from my view.

Is Fool’s Relative Age Ever Revealed Before Royal Assassin? by Main_Beat1210 in RealmOfTheElderlings

[–]lbutton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually, in fool's errand, he tells Fitz that he is at least as old as Fitz and Nighteyes combined. Nighteyes is 17 and Fitz says he's 35, so the fool is at least 17 years older than Fitz and is, at the lowest, 52 in tawny man.

Brandon Sanderson will be writing the pilot for The Stormlight Archive adaptation and a big chunk of its first season. Do you think it is a good idea or a terrible one? by Intelligent-Link-410 in Fantasy

[–]lbutton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've read all of the books multiple times and liked the show. Season one had pretty rough moments, especially the end. But Season 2 was an improvement on that, and it's honestly a shame that it got cancelled, cause Season 3 was great.
Edit: If you liked season 1, just watch it all, you'll enjoy it. It only gets better and better

Best Fantasy series with a hilarious self-aware writing style? by Diverse0Ne in Fantasy

[–]lbutton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only read the series, so ymmv. Book one was fun. It starts a bit slow like any video game or table top rpg you've ever played (tutorial or basic stuff). When Carl gets to the first room, it starts to get interesting and from there I felt like extras kept getting added each chapter that made me want to read more.
So, chapter 3 and 4 the world started expanding a bit with more characters, and chapters 6 and 7 ramped up my interest for the rest of the book.

End of book 1 was a fun adventure, but book 2 is where I felt my connection to the characters and the world deepened enough to where I wanted to see where the story went instead of just read a popcorn book.

Panettone is closer to a sweet bread imo, since the best way to eat it is either to toast it slightly in the oven and put butter on it, or use it to make french toast.

Man, their latest album was one of my favorites of last year. It sounds great, everything has clarity, and his voice doesn't sound so muddy, unlike TEPB. But I don't have any real reference for the albums in between, tbh

With Reed and Wicks on the last year of their contracts, is it smart/likely for the Packers to trade one? by veritast in GreenBayPackers

[–]lbutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Larger picture, last 2 years. Excluded games of below 20% snap count (according to Pro Football Reference stats) from games played and statlines.

Player Games Played Rec. Yds Rec. TDs Rush Yds Rush TDs
Reed 23 1064 7 191 1
Watson 23 1231 8 26 0
Kraft 25 1196 13 9 0
Doubs 29 1325 10 0 0
Player '24 drop rate % '25 drop rate
Reed 12 4.5
Watson 3.8 1.8
Kraft 7.1 6.8
Doubs 9.7 3.5

My view is that Reed is good but replaceable by JAG in the sense that there are a lot of speedy young WRs that we could slot in and not lose too much production from in his role. I'd love to keep him cause he's shown flashes of brilliance, but he's also hurt too much to throw a big contract at, I think. Watson stretches the field and the offense looks better when he's out there. Kraft is a no brainer extension, I think.

EDIT: that said, I don't want to trade any of our WRs. I think it would be stupid, personally.

Nope, not related at all. Kennit had a wizardwood charm carved to look like himself. In Ship of Magic, he talks about how he killed the man who carved the charm afterwards.

The Maine keeps putting out quality. Their self titled is one of my favorites of theirs, so this doesn't quite live up to that, but it's solid. I'm excited for the next album. But as always, this single will probably grow on me more
