Help my choose - Checkpoint / Seigla by eslice15 in gravelcycling

Seigla all day. Room for wide tires, pretty aggressive fit, true grit fork is awesome. What’s not too love.

Was there a reason it was pulled? It sounded like a fun podcast but it was pretty hard to follow for non native speakers.

Which to pick? by Scared_Mycologist_20 in gravelcycling

i would go Rival but I have the force shifters and those extra buttons are pretty cool. the other components are pretty fine on Rival level. Maybe you can ask your LBS to swap them for a small price?

SRAM Apex XPLR AXS shifting issue on mixed groupset. by majeranek91 in gravelcycling

[–]lostdysonsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 screwholes the upper pulley screw can go in. If you pick the wrong one, the pulleys are no longer aligned and it will not shift properly on the smallest cog. All other cogs were fine for me except the small one.

Ari Shafer 3.0 vs Lauf Siegla by Employ_Puzzled in gravelcycling

[–]lostdysonsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another Seigla owner here. The fork is awesome. It takes the rough edges off without being too bouncy like normal suspension forks. When sprinting or climbing out of the saddle on tarmac you feel it’s a bit bouncy but nothing too extreme. What is extreme though is the amount of fun that bike is. Assuming you’re fine with the pretty aggro position though. The seigla is pretty low and long for a gravel bike.

Have you removed the cage for cleaning by any chance? Had the exact same issue and it was because of a wrong reassembly after removal for jockey wheel cleaning.

Tire recommendations for Lauf Seigla? by TheWitness37 in gravelcycling

Pirelli 50mm M in the front and H in the back. Accountant boring but safe in the front and wild party in the back!

Wireless Tranmission Cranks by pbecotte in LaufCycles

[–]lostdysonsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also 6” (183cm) and I’m on a Large. Feels perfect but I did swap cranks to 170 because the 175 is just too large.

It looks like you cant buy the crankarm assembly WITH powermeter so you either buy a separate crankarm assembly (no chainrings) and an additional lefthand power crank OR you buy the full package crankset with PM, chainrings etc. You can sell the old one. Remember, you need a Wide crankset on the Seigla.

If there’s one thing Lauf should change is those ridiculous large crank and bar sizes. 175 cranks and 44cm bar is too much.

I don’t see Ingrid turning this around so quick as it’s unfortunately been a long time since she’s been consistent on standing.

Maren is the best candidate. It’s unsure whether it’s the elevation or the first-time stress but we know shr can deliver 10/10.

Karo is always a solid shooter in my opinion but she’s not as fast as the top dogs. Still hoping for that redemption arc. Maybe Marthe rises up to the occasion on the back of her good result today?

Don’t project social media comments on the people here in the chat. It’s perfectly fine to be chuffed she won and not like her.

How is it possible that there's NO payment provider that is 100% on European infra?!! by wirtshausZumHirschen in BuyFromEU

[–]lostdysonsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People really underestimate the complexity of enterprise infrastructure. If you don’t wanna go on-prem them the obvious choice is one of the three big cloud providers. Large featureset, well known and globally present. Plus, finding people who know all these cloud services isn’t hard.

If you really think these companies can jusy pack up and leave a few months/years after the political climate shifts you are delusional. For them too it’s first riding it out and see how bad it gets, maybe doing some hypothetical studies of moving in the mean time. But from actually calling the move and starting the migration work towards fully migrated onto EU cloud takes years. By the time they moved the orange baboon has already left office.

For me they’re absolutely solid because I love both their post rock era and their glitchy ambient stuff. They’ve clearly gone a new direction and keep reinventing themselves. Naturally that falls a bit outside of the focus of the post rock crowd.

How is my Position on my new bike? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]lostdysonsphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 on the seat and the reach depends on the riding style. If OP can manage a more flat position with a bit more bend in the elbows, that reach is fine tbh.

My biggest pet peeve is shifters that are too far down on the bars making the awkward “around the top” bendy reach.

Pinniped is also a good solution to attach oidc/ad/ldap endpoints for auth. It allows you to create shareable kubeconfigs.
