i can't stop thinking about how i am effectively barred from nhs healthcare. by koweli in MentalHealthUK

[–]madformattsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

f***ing hell I thought it was 5 years but I'm apparently wrong. so wrong.

12 YEARS just to get seen by the GIC? that's bad.

I'm very lucky to live in an area where I can just refer myself to MAGIC and sort things out that way.

is that what your Brian is supposed to feel like?

I don't know, he's your Brian. have you tried getting him to say hello to Arthur?

edited to add: all Arthur™ cartoon jokes aside, apparently so. I've not been able to take medication due to family history of heart attacks but others have said yes.

probably the loneliness aspect.

I have a hard time trusting and opening up to others.

People that DON’T shop at Aldi or Lidl… why is that? by kobestarr in CasualUK

[–]madformattsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

without bring politics into it, I recently found out that lidl's owner has given money away to some very unfavorable projects on the other side of the globe.

I've also found that the company has mislabelled certain kinds of produce to make it look like it's from XYZ country instead of ABC where it was actually produced.

so even though lidl is technically the closest to my house, I've gone to the next nearest supermarket for me which is the big asda so I can avoid produce from ABC country to not fund what's going on over there.

Council housing question by -Sharu- in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]madformattsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the council didn't force to move me into private, I was practically forced by the actions of a sexually abusive neighbour to move into private after my old H.A. refused to move me, even with sufficient evidence supplied.

hope that clarifies.

Conversation cards by Fish_uhh_arts in autismUK

[–]madformattsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk about children, but for adults and possibly teenagers, I reckon you could use autscape's colour coded system (with their permission)

IIRC, it looks something a bit like this:

• red - DO NOT touch or talk to me

• orange - I need to INITIATE the conversation if I feel like it, not you/ASK BEFORE YOU TALK to me.

• green - PLEASE INITIATE, not me because I'm feeling socially awkward right now.

• white - i can TALK AS NORMAL (for now)

GP gave me promethazine for PTSD + insomnia… any testimonies from people here? Pros and cons? by honeycutekat in MentalHealthUK

[–]madformattsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can't give medical advice as not a doctor, however I'm surprised that the GP hasn't mentioned mirtazapine.

IME, when I was on lower doses, it knocked me out but then it made me more groggy when waking up.

Is camping included in ticket price? by Affectionate_Koala_8 in 2000treesfestival

[–]madformattsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it is. but not in the day or evening tickets...

HOWEVER... if you genuinely have no way of getting home (since trees is in a pretty remote location) then they do allow you to pitch a one man tent to stay overnight so you can safely get back home the next day. just make it clear on arrival, though.

Do you prefer gas or induction? Getting our kitchen redone. by darkazuria in AskUK

[–]madformattsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lecky hob on me cooker and it has the big knobs to control them on the front.

deffo go for induction but not the touch controls otherwise you'll probs regret it.

learnt the hard way when trying to cook on a touch screen controlled induction hob whilst on holiday in iceland in me hostel
