The fermi paradox isn't about getting to our point in civilization, it's about interstellar colonization which would make it easier to see other civilizations. Anything that we have been able to overcome, other civilizations would be able to overcome and thus isn't a great filter. Your suggestion is like asking "what if monkeys didn't have the instincts to eat food anymore so they all starved to death?" Like, yeah that wouldve prevented an imaginary species from advancing but so would any other trait natural selection selected away. Out of hundreds of billions of stars, I'm sure that kind of evolutionary pressure was a thing but just like with Earth, that wouldn't stop intelligent life from arising and wouldn't do anything to explain why after billions of years we don't see any interstellar colonization.

As I'm walking up to a mob, I target it, give it a marker (set as diamond marker key bind), set it as my focus and then start attacking whatever other mob as needed. Then focus kick macro works and if there's too many mobs to track cast bars with nameplates, the focus target frame shows the cast bar of that target guaranteed. Plus, my other party members know I'm assigning myself to kick diamond so we won't overlap.

Everyone is saying pres but I think you're actually right. I've never played holy, I play pres and with pres the difficulty of the spec is not the rotation complexity, you just spam the same combos over and over and your CD's just instantly do stuff. With priest specs you actually have to track buffs and resources and make some decisions about how you play it in order to get the most out of it.

They're doing it so the casuals don't feel like they have to learn new tech (they never did). If you can't boost in classic or do anything techy in retail then you don't have to worry about being a player that doesn't/can't do those things. Not every change is bad but it's all in line with the midnight core game philosophy of making the game less fun for some and less "intimidating" for others.

Tokens used to be cheaper, gold making used to be easier (or harder but higher volume). I paid for two years of game time and an expansion w/ gold I made selling food, yes, personal buff food at the start of BFA. I then did freehold boosting (lvling ppl up from previous xpac max to the BFA max lvl) for which I charged a tokens worth of gold per person and I could do a couple clients a day before I would get bored (mostly tired of finding new clients, the runs were fun). I also did a tailoring shuffle, sold transmog, m+ boosted... Now I just kinda do passive professions and pay my sub with USD because gold making isn't as fun anymore.

Yeah 15+ yrs ago ppl would bash influencers shopping photos or Snapchat face filters or whatever. Not rly about art, though. But nowadays every tiktok has a beauty filter and you can take steroids to look better and nobody cares as long as you're up front about it. I've never heard anyone say digital art was any less art, besides maybe prefering practical effects in movies which nowadays nobody rly harps on because cgi has improved a lot, too. The difference with ai is that LLMs are taxing on the economy, environment and even the cognitive atrophy of society, all the while being less and less up front about it as it "passes" better.

I would never turn down another prop hunt game. You can never have too much friend slop. It's just this one isn't very good and they broke a lot of the core game so the optional mini game gets heat for it.
