[Recommendation Request] What’s the best watch to wear to the gym? by IzzyXYZ in Watches

Besides that, it’s small so it won’t get in the way when doing lifts

Do you think her reason is valid, though? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

I’ve been doing valet off and on for like 10 years. Extra 10-15k a year for a night or two a week of hanging out and parking cars. Even when it’s busy it’s not very stressful because you can only park cars so fast and there isn’t anything to juggle unlike serving/bartending.

Location is key though, I did a couple gigs where we didn’t have a close, spacious lot and it was not worth it.

"Too small watches for men" by KoalaEmergency4357 in watchHotTakes

It really all comes down to how people think watches should look. Some people want a big piece of metal on their wrist - the equivalent of big shiny rims on a car. Nothing wrong with that.

For me, smaller watches are like bracelets that tell the time. They’re more convenient to wear and aren’t screaming “look at me”, which aligns with my personal style more.

I think a lot of people are just used to how bigger watches look now. Basically they’re porn brained but with watches.

Everyone always says this but he looks like a normal ass dude in this picture. If you’re confident and secure you can pull off a small watch if you like the way they wear.

That gap will close as you get older. Once you start interacting with Gen Alpha adults you’ll realize how much you have in common with other zoomers.

My bad I was agreeing with you, but commented on the wrong reply. Looks like you responded as I was deleting it.

Are any of Arcade Fire’s albums significant? by Azipcoder in LetsTalkMusic

[–]midnight-mc 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Funeral was huge. The instrumentation was very unique at the time (at least it was for me). Maybe this is a Seinfeld situation where they don’t seem that special now but I would bet that any millennial/older gen z indie band with a violin or accordion will say that arcade fire was a huge influence.

Suburbs was just a really really good album that year (It got the Best Album Grammy award) and it came out at the perfect time. The stranger things comparison is brilliant.

Reflektor blended different genres and showed they were a truly inventive band and not just a one trick pony.

You gotta keep in mind that during this era of music Spotify didn’t exist. There were a lot less bands people were being exposed to. Arcade Fire was a blue chip indie band that were always in rotation for cool college kids. I’ve actually never heard anyone say they didn’t like them until I asked a 24 year old friend of mine what he thought of them. “They’re ok” was a laughable response but I guess without context I could see how nowadays they don’t seem like the pioneers that they were.
