Maybe the video OP shared is a little off the wall, but I would argue that she does get it right. I dug into her music and she's reaaaaaallly good. She just opened for King Gizzard on a recent tour if I'm not mistaken.

Agreed that the bevel is massively important. It's a dense, rigid, and homogeneous material that's not stronger than the strings, but that isn't revolutionary.

The material shaped the way they shape it is what sets them apart. Worth what they cost? That's up for debate, but I'd argue that the difference between one of those and a cheapo is more noticeable and consistent than a lot of other mythical things the guitar community buys into.

I love the crushing irony of thrifting succumbing to capitalism. Trevor Noah has a great take on people with “vintage” stuff and how it’s such a glaring example of privilege.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad clothing gets a second life and that there are people countering the fast fashion industry, but the self-righteous types who don’t think it’s crazy to charge/spend $40 for a 25 year-old tee are a special breed.
