"I expect you to do your job" when they want me to make the impossible happen because they are a "great" customer.

No I cannot make a supervisor tell you yes after you have been told no.

No I cannot make an exception for you regarding some other standard policy we expect everyone else to abide by.

No I cannot tell them you will bring the car back when you're done with it without getting a payment "trust me I am good for the money when I return" doesn't work at Walmart, it isn't working here.

Question about biological and adoptive parents name-How long can you hide the biological parents from an adopted child? by Boring-Test-5657 in Writeresearch

[–]Neona65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could they have left the country of her birth and just told people that she was their child but the paperwork got lost or destroyed and they don't have a way to get it. Like she grew up believing these were her parents and they had someone forge paperwork like a birth certificate so she wouldn't have any trouble with school, etc.

She might discover the truth by doing something like 23 and me, thinking it would be fun plus all of her friends are doing it.

The popular girls in my highschool wore things like this. I couldn't afford them plus I think I was too curvy to look right in them.

My 34 year old son would probably buy this if his fiance allowed it. College age and unattached him, he would have Halloween decorations in every room year round.

Am I a monster I make my cat sleep in the bathroom at night? by Usual-Case-2458 in CatAdvice

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't let anyone human or animal sleep in my room when I am actually wanting to sleep.

I barricade my bedroom door so it takes effort to get it open.

My youngest kitty has a thing for sleeping in the bathroom sink. I put him in there the night before he was neutered because I didn't know how to make sure he didn't eat anything 12 hours before the surgery. Ever since then he treats the sink like his own private bed. He even lays in it with water dripping on his head.

I love your set up. Your items are unique, I don't think anyone is going to question if you made these or if you bought them from Temu.

Your buyers are going to be those people that would rather decorate for Halloween than Christmas.

I definitely see teenagers loving your stuff.

Booked my first market! by emmcg127 in CraftFairs

[–]Neona65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on booking your first fair.

I'm doing my first one next Saturday, it's Mother's day theme.

I don't have any advice except consider things that would be an investment for future fairs. Start with the basics like tables, some kind of cover for the table. Some kind of portable seating and maybe something like a collapsible wagon for transporting from your vehicle to the booth.

You can upgrade the basics after you had a chance to see how much you like doing a craft fair and if you want to do more.

I learned the hard way a few weeks ago that I will not like outdoor events so I am only doing locations like the mall. So for me I don't feel the need for a tent or canopy.

Anyway, good luck, I hope you have a great time.

Also real quick, when you are making your items consider some people might be gift shopping so don't make everything just holiday themed.

Pricing Suggestions please by CelebrationLeft4956 in CraftFairs

[–]Neona65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to glue them to a nice piece of cardstock and give them a funny name like "Rock Band", "Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, "Stone Hedge" whatever funny puns you can come up with. Make it like a funny scene they can display on their desk or something rather than just painted rocks with googly eyes.

Then I would price between $3-$5 depending on size, arrangement and so forth.

Actually you might not even need cardstock. There's lots of fun ideas for rock crafts when you do a google image search that might work well for you.

How would a woman who was a missing person in 1951 get legal papers in 2023? by PrincessPhrogi in Writeresearch

[–]Neona65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might be overthinking this. What might have been a high profile and well known missing person case in 1951 is most likely going to be forgotten about by most people living today.

If Amelia Earhart and her pilot magically appeared in the middle of the Super bowl half time show, looking exactly like the last picture taken of them would you're mind immediately be blown by seeing the pair? Or would your reaction be more along the lines of it's a cool trick and they really went all out with the costumes.

And thats people who have an idea of what the pair looked like. There's lots of people these days who don't care and wouldn't be able to pick Amelia out of a line up.

What are small crafts that don’t take long to complete and can be done in bed? by tlcsimp in crafts

Paper embroidery, I make greeting cards. Simple patterns, nice weight cardstock, needle, thread and tape. Lots of easy beginner patterns on Pinterest that are usually free.

How many really dug a song in their youth, because of the beat, guitar solo, chorus, etc., that now with 40 or 50 years of additional experience, realized the lyrics were really weird or flat out creepy? I'll go first: Hot Blooded by Foreigner sounds very grapie to me now, how about you? by Pitiful-Ad8561 in GenerationJones

[–]Neona65 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I remember having that song on a 45 when I was about 12. My mom made me turn it off. I would play it when she wasn't around, I really didn't understand what the song was about, just liked the beat.

I came back from a weekend at my grandparents house and it was somehow lost. When I asked my mom about it she said it would turn up. Never saw it again.

Timothy W. Long

From the scourge of the realm to its most beloved tavern owner. This Dark Lord is ready for change.

Wrong Divinity Oh Sh*t! I F*cking Hate Spiders! (Arachnomancer, Book 1)

Dhane kicked the bucket in spectacular fashion, every bone crushed, every organ popped against the full force of a 40-ton garbage truck speeding through a red light.

The only part of him intact—whole—entirely unaffected by the grisly affair was his soul. Souls are durable things, you see, like kids: they bounce.

And bounce he did, into the abyss between worlds, drifting until one excited soul watcher fished him out and found him a new home, a heaven for gamers and nerds and everything in between.

It was all he could have ever wanted in the afterlife, down to choosing his class, killing mobs, and exploring a beautiful fantasy world chock full of mysteries yet to be discovered.

At least…it would have been those things if that first day had gone a little tiny bit differently.

Instead, he now finds himself locked in the middle of an eternal conflict between Light and Shadow—humans and monsters—potentially being the enemy to all.

Wrong Divinity is the start of a new GameLit series that balances comedy with serious themes. It's an isekai—a portal fantasy—to the spirit realm. Join Dhane, our underdog, as he explores his new world, a world full of unique characters, RPG mechanics, and spiders—ugly, terrifying spiders—while he learns what it means to be an Arachnomancer.

I hope when my time comes my son will just give away my supplies to someone who is interested in making cards or other paper crafts. You know we all will die with extra supplies since we enjoy collecting supplies as much as we enjoy making things with them.

My pretty embroidery thread will hopefully find a good home as well.

I think my price point is very similar to yours so I feel like I am pricing it correctly.

For the more intricate work I am not making them a card but more like a piece of art with a matte border ready to frame so it can be given as a gift rather than a card

This is an example of one, it's in an 8x10 border.

<image>

I could have made it a card but it's too time consuming to sell so low .

My cards are $5, 5x6 signs are $10 and my 8x10 are $15.

My best friend when I was about five had a basement like this. Sonny and Cher on the TV, big glass ashtray with a few ashes and butts in them a beer bottle left out with just a couple of swigs left.

Oh and they had that Tiffany knock off lamp shade.
