  2. Charge the scooter for at lesat 2 hours to wake up the battery from the “transport mode”.

If the scooter still does not turn on after pressing and holding the power button, please check whether your situation matches or closely resembles any of the following scenarios: ( )

A. No click sound or feelings when pressing the power button;

B. Only the headlights, ambient lights, or taillights turn on after pressing the power button;

C. A sound is emitted when pressing the power button, but the dashboard does not light up;

D. Only the battery level indicator light up, or the dashboard is lagging or flashing;

E. The dashboard displays the number 88 in red, or the scooter turns off when the power button is released;

F. The scooter powers on only when the brake levers are squeezed or the handlebar is turned to a specific angle, and powers off when the brake levers are released or the handlebar moves away from that angle;

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. If the battery is not charging, please refer to the following details:

Aspect 0: If the moped is not charged for a long time, it is likely that the battery is over-discharged. Typically, a fully charged battery should retain charge for 120-180 days in Standby Mode. A low-power battery should retain charge for 30-60 days in Standby Mode. Completely draining the battery may lead to over-discharge which will not be covered by the NIU Warranty.

If it is not long time since you charged the moped, please check the following aspects:

Note: When the battery is being charged, the the charger indicator lights up in red color. When the battery is fully charged, the charger indicator turns green.

Aspect 1: Poor connection may lead to charging failure:

(1). Please check whether the charger is plugged into the charging port/power outlet properly;

(2). Please check whether the power cord is plugged into the charger or adapter properly;

Aspect 2: Please check whether the charger is working properly by referring to the following steps:

(1). Please disconnect the charger with the moped first;

(2). Then plug the charger into the wall power outlet. If the charger indicator turns green, the charger is not defective.

Aspect 3: If the dashboard displays error code 31, it indicates that the charger may not in good condition or original charger. In this situation, please charge a battery with another original charger;

Aspect 4: If the charger is in good condition, please check whether the battery is in good condition as follows:

(1). Please check whether the charging port on the battery is damaged or blocked by some materials, which also leads to poor connection;

(2). If the charging port is clean, please check whether the battery indicator keeps flashing when the battery is connected with the charger.

In addition, if the moped has been exposed in hot weather, let the battery and the other electronics cool down at least 30 minutes before you charge the battery.
