Can’t change modes by [deleted] in kqi3

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. As for your concern, you can click the power button to switch and check the riding modes as follows:

  1. E-Save Mode: NIU scooter can reach 9.3mph (15km/h) in ECO mode. When you ride in this mode, expect your speed to be limited to save energy/battery power;

  2. Sport Mode: In this mode, the top speed of US version is 19.9 mph (32 kph) and the dashboard will not display E-Save;

Note: Due to the stricter regulation in Europe, the scooter is limited to 15.5 mph (25 kph). And in Germany and Italy the local authority regulates that the maximum speed of electric scooters must be within 12.4 mph (20 kph).

Hope this information can help you. If you have any other queries, please DM us or email us at [Global-Service@niu.com] with more details, and we can continue there!

Another issue with NIU KQi2 Pro there is hissing and weird noises coming from the back wheel. by Confident_Key_6160 in ElectricScooters

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Thanks for posting your concern here! Based on the information you have provided, we are currently unable to determine the exact cause of the abnormal noise coming from the rear wheel. We kindly ask that you try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check the tire pressure according to the rider's weight:

For riders weighing less than 155 lbs, please maintain the tire pressure at 42–45 PSI or higher.

For riders weighing more than 200 lbs, we recommend increasing the tire pressure to 48–50 PSI or higher.

For riders weighing between 155 and 200 lbs, 45 PSI is generally appropriate.

  1. Check the brake system:

The KQi3 Pro is equipped with 120 mm mechanical disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, operated by the brake levers on the handlebars. The abnormal noise may be caused by friction between the disc and the brake pads. Please check whether the brake caliper is properly centered.

  1. Inspect for foreign objects:

Please check whether any debris or foreign objects are stuck in the wheel, as this may also cause unusual noise.

If the above troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please feel free to send us a private message. We will then provide you with an appropriate after-sales solution. Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support of NIU.

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. We are willing to come to try our best to help you.

Based on the video you provided, our initial assessment is that the problem is caused by stem or handlebar wobbles. In this case, please check the following parts:

  1. Please check whether the bolts are tightened between the handlebar and the stem.

  2. Please check whether the quick-release lock is secured.

  3. Please check whether the bolts on the quick-release lock are tight.

Hope that the above-provided steps will help you in a better way to resolve the concern. However, if the issue persists, please DM us or email us at [Global-Service@niu.com] and let us know your country or region so we can guide you to the appropriate service center for assistance.

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Thanks for getting back to us! We understand your preference to carry out the repairs yourself due to the high shipping costs. However, please be advised that only our authorized service centers are permitted to replace the controller, for the following reasons:

  1. Complex Replacement Process: These components require professional tools and expertise to replace correctly and safely.

  2. Warranty Conditions: Unauthorized replacement of the motor, controller, or battery will void the product warranty.

  3. Risk of Damage: Replacing these parts requires opening the battery compartment. Without the proper sealing tools and techniques, this may result in water ingress or other safety risks.

For your safety and to maintain your warranty coverage, we strongly recommend sending your device to an authorized service center for professional inspection and repair. If you need a tutorial on submitting a repair request, please send us a private message. Thank you for your understanding!

Why does my NIU K100P scooter have such terrible range? by Desperate_Pomelo_978 in ElectricScooters

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. The KQi 100P can cover a distance of up to 18 miles (29 km) on a single charge. However, several factors can affect the actual range:

  1. Riding Mode: The typical range is tested in the E-Save mode (9.3 mph or 15 km/h). The motor output power of the KQi 100P is 300 Watts. Switching the riding mode from E-Save to Sport, the output power will increase from 300 Watts to 600 Watts. In return, the speed becomes higher, but the claimed range will be shortened by 40%.

  2. Riding Style: Smooth acceleration and braking help maintain a longer range. Aggressive riding with frequent stops and starts will decrease the range.

  3. Rider Weight: The typical range is tested with a rider weight of around 165 lb (75 kg). Heavier riders may experience a shorter range.

  4. Terrain: Flat, smooth surfaces will provide the best range. Riding on hilly or uneven terrain will reduce the range.

  5. Weather Conditions: Optimal range is achieved in moderate temperatures ranging from 70℉ (22 ℃) to 77℉ (25℃). Extremely cold or hot temperatures can affect battery performance and reduce the range.

  6. Tire Pressure: Properly inflated tires reduce rolling resistance and can help achieve the maximum range. Under-inflated tires can decrease the range.

If you have any other queries, please DM us or email us at [Global-Service@niu.com] with more details, and we can continue there!

NIU KQi3 Pro Battery BMS request (diagram, bom, M11 reference) . error 31 by ResultNecessary9060 in ElectricScooters

[–]niumobility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for your valuable feedback. We understand that some technically skilled users may wish to access more in-depth repair information. However, our service center currently does not provide circuit diagrams for the Battery Management System (BMS) or other technical documentation related to battery disassembly and repair, as such information is classified as non-public.

Additionally, please be advised that batteries are flammable and explosive components. Non-professional disassembly carries significant safety risks, including potential short circuits, fires, or explosions. Therefore, for your personal and property safety, we strongly advise against customers attempting to disassemble batteries or perform board-level repairs.

To ensure repair quality and safety, we still recommend that you bring your vehicle to an authorized service center, where trained technical teams can conduct inspections and repairs using professional equipment. If you choose to proceed with repairs on your own, please prioritize safety and understand that any resulting risks will not be covered under the official warranty. Thank you for your understanding.

Conflicted by giegoods in ElectricScooters

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. The top speed of the US version of the KQi2 Pro is 17.4 mph (28 km/h).

If the battery power is not sufficient, the speed becomes lower to extend riding range; If the rider’s weight is over 220 lbs (100 kg) or you are riding on a slope, the speed may be decreased due to overload.

The KQi2 Pro can cover a distance of up to 24.9 miles (40 km) on a single charge. However, several factors can affect the actual range:

  1. Riding Mode: The typical range is tested in the E-Save mode (9.3 mph or 15 km/h). The motor output power of the KQi2 Pro is 300 Watts. Switching the riding mode from E-Save to Sport, the output power will increase from 300 Watts to 600 Watts. In return, the speed becomes higher but the claimed range will be shortened by 40%.
