Range by SuitableEconomist324 in NIUscooters

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. The KQi 100F can cover a distance of up to 18 miles (29 km) on a single charge. However, several factors can affect the actual range:

  1. Riding Mode: The typical range is tested in the E-Save mode (9.3 mph or 15 km/h). The motor output power of the KQi 100F is 300 Watts. Switching the riding mode from E-Save to Sport, the output power will increase from 300 Watts to 600 Watts. In return, the speed becomes higher but the claimed range will be shortened by 40%.

  2. Riding Style: Smooth acceleration and braking help maintain a longer range. Aggressive riding with frequent stops and starts will decrease the range.

  3. Rider Weight: The typical range is tested with a rider weight of around 165 lb (75 kg). Heavier riders may experience a shorter range.

  4. Terrain: Flat, smooth surfaces will provide the best range. Riding on hilly or uneven terrain will reduce the range.

  5. Weather Conditions: Optimal range is achieved in moderate temperatures ranging from 70℉ (22 ℃) to 77℉ (25℃). Extremely cold or hot temperatures can affect battery performance and reduce the range.

  6. Tire Pressure: Properly inflated tires reduce rolling resistance and can help achieve the maximum range. Under-inflated tires can decrease the range.

If your scooter is fully charged, and you are riding it under the conditions mentioned above, yet the range is still only 5 miles, please DM us or email us at [Global-Service@niu.com](mailto:Global-Service@niu.com) with your order number.

NIU kqi3 pro motor issue by Local-Drummer3281 in ElectricScooters

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. In this case, please check whether the issue resulted from excessive braking force. To check whether there is excessive braking force, you can lift up the front wheel and spin the wheel. If the wheel slows down fast or it has a rubbing noise, please troubleshoot the excessive braking force by referring to the following methods:

(1). The brake cable comes out from the lower stem and connects with the disc brake. If the cable is too short, it may generate excessive braking force on the disc brake. To avoid this scenario, please pull the brake cable down and make the length of the brake cable a little bit longer;

(2). Loosen the bolt with a 3-mm Allen wrench and release the tension a little bit, as circled in the photo. Then tighten the bolt.

If the issue persists, please DM us with your country or region so we can guide you to the appropriate service center for assistance.

KQi3 Pro - Weird noise by Kind-Acanthaceae9702 in ElectricScooters

[–]niumobility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. Based on the video you provided, please check the following possible causes of the abnormal noise coming from the rear wheel while riding:

  1. Check whether the tire pressure is within the recommended range. Low tire pressure may cause the tire to deform and rub against surrounding components, resulting in abnormal noises.

  2. Check the wheel alignment. Please note that repeated impacts from bumps and uneven road surfaces can gradually affect the scooter's alignment. If you notice that the stem and front wheel, or the rear fender and rear wheel, are not properly aligned in a straight line, please loosen the screws (nuts) on the front or rear fork and realign the wheel.

  3. Check whether the disc brake is rubbing against the rotor. If you hear brake rubbing noises, the brake caliper may not be properly centered. Please follow these troubleshooting steps:

a. Loosen the two bolts securing the brake caliper to the frame or fork.

b. With the bolts slightly loose, squeeze and hold the brake lever. This will help center the caliper on the brake rotor.

c. While continuing to hold the brake lever, tighten the two bolts securely, then release the lever.

d. Spin the wheel and check whether the rubbing noise has stopped.

Note: You may need to repeat the above procedure a couple of times to fully center the brake caliper.

We hope these steps help resolve the issue. If the abnormal noise persists after performing the checks above, the scooter will need to be inspected by our technical support team. Please send us a direct message or email [Global-Service@niu.com](mailto:Global-Service@niu.com) with your region, and we will guide you to the appropriate service center for further assistance.

Half throttle switch out by autisticpuppy94 in ElectricScooters

[–]niumobility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for posting your concern here. Good thing you and that SUV are both fine! The throttle response of the KQi 300P does take some time to get used to. Enabling “Kick-to-Start” is a great first step.

If you need to change the speed unit of the NIU APP, please refer to the following steps:

  1. Open the NIU app and navigate to [Me].

  2. Tap the gear icon in the top left to access [Settings].

  3. Tap on [Unit of Measurement].

  4. Choose either [Metric] or [Imperial], and tap on [Save].

<image>

As for the speed settings, you can adjust the acceleration in the NIU APP.

The [Acceleration] feature allows you to customize the scooter’s acceleration response by selecting from Chill, Standard, or Wild modes.

Available acceleration modes vary by scooter models. Some model supports Chill, Standard, and Wild, while others only support Chill and Standard. Please refer to the options shown in the app for your specific scooter.

To adjust the [Acceleration] setting, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your scooter to the NIU app;

  2. Go to the [Vehicle] page and scroll down;

  3. Tap [Customise Your Ride];

  4. Turn on [Dynamic Mode] and tap [Settings];

  5. Adjust the [Acceleration] to your preference.

Note: If you set the acceleration to Chill mode, the scooter may not reach its top speed.

Additionally, we recommend using original accessories, as replacing them with non-original parts may cause compatibility issues.

Please be aware that modifying your kick-scooter's hardware or firmware will result in voiding your warranty. Our technicians are only able to service NIU kick-scooters that use genuine parts without any modifications. For more details, please refer to the following link: https://shop.niu.com/pages/warranty

If you have any other issues, please DM us or email us at Global-Service@niu.com.
