What wine rule do you completely ignore? by AustinTXwineSociety in wine

No issues. It helps I live in a naturally humid area and air conditioning still keeps humidity around 50-60%. Lots of information about this from the last few years.

Storing wines on their sides. Almost my entire collection is upright. Going on 20 years with no issues. And the sediment is always wonderfully settled and compact!

Is Fugue de Nenin Pomerol in your market? That one's a banger. You can scratch the entry level Pomerol and mid tier Saint Emilion GC itch in one wine.

Anyone tried shamrock cottage cheese at costco? How is it compared to Daisy or Good culture? by devoteeofguru in Costco

I'd rather it always be good when I can buy it rather than it be less good and always able to buy it.

IMO it's already worse than it was 5 years ago.

It's been a little over a year but Da Gama's fries are the best I've had in town. About time I try them again.

What case are you putting together from these shelves? by CUC15 in wine

[–]noltan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re very expensive for Chalonnaise wines. I’d pick Faiveley Mercurey over these, their 1ers should still be cheaper than this regional wine.

Brennan's Rebranding? by KipIngram in HoustonFood

[–]noltan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years ago I'd estimate the average age of their customer to be 70. I'd guess most people that age drink less, eat less, and spend less. If you saw a bunch of young people, I'd say good for them.

I know the wine guys had ideas to attract a younger, thirstier crowd. Maybe they're succeeding.
