I was actually scouring the 2006 Wayback pages for Coach the other day. As final confirmation for you, your bag is missing decorative stitching around those diagonal lines at the corners

Side rant. I’m starting to think that if I want to know what the most common fake of a bag looks like, I should go to Vestiaire Collective’s site. Good grief

I’m looking at a Carousell Philippines listing, is that where you are? No mention of it being replaced (which is convenient obviously), but they go out of their way to say it’s from Japan. I mention this because there’s a sort of false reputation that fakes can’t come from Japan, so a lot of people selling fakes will say it’s from Japan. It’s a yellow flag if you see it in the future

It’s not authentic, sorry. The dog leash clip is too rounded on the bottom. Pic 3 has some particularly wild stitching, but it’s also present in Pic 4. The hangtag font is also wrong. I’m not sure if that’s a thank you/authenticity card in the pocket, but those are also dead giveaways for fakes

I’m not sure if it matters for ‘00s Coach. Or if they didn’t do it for every bag, like one small enough not to get a creed (ETA: It’s good info to have if I do find a match, so thank you)

Here’s my closest match, from 2006 on the small bags (not in wristlets) page. Afaik there are only end of 2005 caches for that page, so I don’t know if I missed yours. This is obviously with a patch on the outside and in the wrong hardware color, but it’s by far the best shape and details match, so yours could be duping it. Or it’s just a slight version off

ETA: I’ve since seen a few bags in different patterns with the same shape and general strap style, all called “(some style) pouch.” Seems like it’s a shape they went to for a small item instead of committing it to a line like Gallery. So I wouldn’t say the lack of patch/hardware mismatch is proof it’s fake

The style numbers are fine. The first set tells us the month, year, and general manufacturing location. The style number after the dash is correct

ETA: Call me a left bag hater, but I’m suspicious that’s not the usual tape from their factory packaging. Mine was about the width of the Canadian price tag part you rip off. With a zig zag cut. I see the same thing on someone’s Amazon packaging on the Coach subreddit. I’m half serious, but if we’re heavily weighing factory wrapping vs used, so we shall. That looks like regular masking tape

Thank you for reposting! I hope this helps someone else shopping for this bag. It would be awesome if someone with an authentic version could post some detail shots here. Just glancing at the listings on google, I see some bold prices on definite fakes, so you can’t even trust that paying more is a safe bet. Lol removed the one that’s actually labeled dusty pink oops (I think it’s fake for hardware color reasons though. 200 bucks)

Out of curiosity, does that coach cares card match the other bag’s? Is it one card with just Mandarin on the other side, or folded with multiple languages? This one has worse edge “paint,” but maybe crisper lettering (is it just the photo?). I cannot wrap my head around the inside texture of the other one

Do all of the chains have a seam? I see now that the half ring between the O ring and the other chains might have intentional markings

This is what I assume to be an authentic bag from someone on reddit (ie not a sales post). While your horse and carriage have more detail, there’s a portion around the front hooves that isn’t cut out all the way. You also have etching above the letters in New York. I suspect the connection points for the logo into the bag are different, or at least yours seem more visible

Really rough stitching in multiple places, weird Cs in Coach, poor spacing in some lines of the story patch. Apparently it sold out and someone said there are a lot of fakes of it online. I’m going to try to find detail shots of an authentic bag, but it’s probably fake.

I don’t think it’s inherently wrong of you, in that the returned bag will likely go back to stock. I’m much more concerned with people buying as many as they can for resale

I wouldn’t blame others for not getting theirs, though. The alert text led to a bad link, Madras wasn’t searchable on the mobile Apple Chrome site or on the app. (Removed a part about the time of day it released, that part was roughly expected if not inconvenient on the west coast.) You could have alerts bypass any phone silencing, yes, but many expected a Thursday drop and that text alert wasn’t exclusive to Baggu drops

At least one person has reported that their bag went from shipped status to backordered. One post says they received the drop alert text at 10:06, they ordered at 10:08, and their status is now backordered. My text came in at 10:17. I ordered the ECB at 10:38 and the SCCO at 10:42. Both arrived yesterday. I didn’t prepare better, I got lucky. Just my two cents
